pretty much a cake walk last night.

Good that Bryz played solid, I do think Meszy got his stick on the puck that beat him but good for Bryz for not pointing fingers.

Love the defense scoring and this may sound odd because he scored but Timonen needs to get his shot down. He hit Cooter in the head last month, hit another teams player last week (can't remember who) up high and that goal last night was high. Low and hard is the way to go with point shots.

Nice 5-1 win.

Would have been nice to see Bryz get the shutout, but he did play a solid game, and the defense was solid in front of him. Erik Gustafsson did a lot of good things, maybe most importantly he seemed to make Andrej Meszaros feel really comfortable and confident that he didn't have to chase every play himself.

Jaromir Jagr seemed healthy. He still didn't seem to be 100%-like he was fighting the puck a bit, but hopefully, last night was a turning point for Jags, too.

I also will keep my thoughts with the Rivera family during their time of difficulty.

The wild must have been really hurting for man power, because Yeo kept putting Cutterbuck out there....he ended up with what, 16 pms?

Good game all around last night. Nice to see Bryz get a solid W at home as well.

I do think Bryz needs to work on that rebound control, he was giving out way too many juicy rebounds.

Nice for him to get the win and a stepping stone hopefully.

The twitter hash tag for raising awareness about Amelia's story and of the Riveras efforts to help their daughter is #teamamelia.

That is a total class move by you Mr. Meltzer!

My favorite postgame question asked last night was one to Couturier.

"Have you ever had a goal streak like this before?"

The rookie was very polite, giving a straightforward answer.

"In junior hockey, yes, but not the NHL."

That was the perfect game to get a shut out. If Powe isn't on the team he gets the shut out, brutal! Ex players love playing the Flyers.

Jagr definitely looked more confident last night. I think they may want to break that line up for a game or two to try and get them going. Jagr and Giroux look too frustrated with their own play that it might be hard for them to get each other going.

I think Gus looks great. He and MAB really make it viable for the Flyers to land a 3-4 defenseman instead of going all in for a stud. That may also allow them to make another deal to sure up the forwards.

I thought he was fighting the puck a little bit last night, too.

Wouldn't categorize it as a strong performance considering:

- still giving up rebounds
- still fighting the puck
- let in another soft goal
- weak opponent
- solid team defense

He needs to get as much ice time as he can right now. That goal he scored last night showed a combination of his hard work and hockey sense putting him in the right position and luck being on his side with that flubbed shot making it in. Anything this kid shoots will go in the net right now. What a steal for the Flyers.

I think Bryz's top 2 areas he needs to work on are rebound control and positioning. He often looks to be slightly out of position which makes him make a tougher save than needed and usually leads to a big rebound.

But a win is a win.

Cooter's been fantastic. To be playing this well at 19 is a real testament to his maturity. Still great on D, but now getting his scoring touch.

Wonder who Lavy goes with vs the Isles on Thursday. In one regard, I'd like to see Bryz come back and continue with the idea of building his confidence, but on the other hand Bob has owned them, and the Isles have played well of late.

You might go, Bob vs Isles, Bryz vs Devs, and then Bryz vs the Bruins.

Agreed. It's a good start to a hopeful bounce-back from an atrocious first half for Bryz.

As long as 1 of our goalies play like a number 1 goalie when the playoffs come I will be happy.

i thought bryz's game was strong...he's gettign better...need to put him in there again to get him to carry the load.

Coots is awesome. I'm hoping he doesn't hit that wall, mid season. this is a lot of games for all the rookies. Hoping youth will serve them well in this case.

prayers to the Rivera family.
