Did Shelley fight Clutterbuck today? I hope he sent him a nice text and settled this issue from last night.
Anything new - stveshdy
no because he ran away from shelley and if shelley fought someone else the coach would be fined. Just updating you on the debate not my position on the matter.

Lets move to something alittle more important than #45.
Like the goaltending. Man do I want Bryz to succeed. I know its still early but I wish they would give him a nice chunk of consecutive games.
If Bob starts against NYI I can understand (bc of his numbers). Hopefully the team will come out ready to play and pick up another two points. |

okay the conversation run its course, when we have to grasp at straws such as contemplating what the rich want to do. - JoeRussomanno
For you maybe. For me, it doesn't make sense to do it, no matter how much salary the Coach is losing in doing so. It doesn't make sense for Laviolette to risk forfeiting money, to send Jody Shelley after a player that isn't Clutterbuck. It makes no sense at all, especially when the game is over and we're up by 4 goals. |

Im inclined to agree with what you have been saying on that subject then someone brought up how whatever Rhythm would be established before the Allstar break would be lost. Which also makes sense.
IMO this team is defensively flawed. Bryzgalov as good as I believe he is isn't good enough to overcome these flaws. Although Bobrovsky is perceived to be better and I agree has more potential, I still feel he would struggle with increased playing time case in point is the WC game which i still believe was the right decision at the time to start him. However until the team buys more into playing better in their own zone and or Holmgren gets the help needed, I'm not wasting energy arguing over the goalies.
Bryzgalov has never shown he can play behind a defensively terrible team, neither has bobrovsky. Put a team out there dedicated to eliminating the magnitude of scoring chances and sloppy turnovers and you should see more of what we got last night from either goalie. |

It's not about the fighting. It's about the time you're choosing to put the enforcer on to the ice and asking him to go after someone, anyone. I haven't once heard you say "Laviolette should place Shelley on to the ice to go after Cutterbuck or to set the tone by fighting another tough player". I've only heard you say that you think Shelley should go after someone else. Who? From what you've been saying, since Cutterbuck was running our skill, it sounds like you were asking for an eye for an eye. Have Shelley run one of their players.
If I'm mistake, whatever. However, premeditated fights are not allowed these days. |

@wyshynski You are right on track with Miller. And Flyers like playing in front of Bob better because he works way harder, and has no ego.

Then use the roster spot on one of the phantoms since we're doing this youth movement this year.
Even though I get what you are saying about the league going a certain way, i feel that's temporary, as the stinking enforcer rule needs to go. Last night is why, But even still I wouldnt have minded the designated enforcer taking someone to task. - JoeRussomanno
I have zero argument with anyone who thinks they should use that roster spot differently. |

G Ilya Bryzgalov, after Tuesday's 5-1 victory, allowed one goal or fewer for the first time in 10 games and the fifth time this season. "I guess it's no bad-bounce goals tonight, that's why it's a big difference," said Bryzgalov. "I don't know to be honest. ... I think the team played unbelievable and they gave up nothing today and ... yeah, I don't know."

That's basically the foundation for my argument against shelley. Like I said from the beginning i have no "hatred" for the guy as Mr. Pannacio implied we fans do. Just wish if he's not going to be a fighter than let's see what one of the kids from the phantoms can give to the team. |
