Whos job is it? If Shelley is dressed what is his role? - stveshdy
Who's job would it have been if Shelley wasn't playing last night? Everyone is all for team toughness but where is the team toughness if your expecting one player to be it? Everyone is complaining that Clutterbuck ran Danny Briere. Well news flash, Shelley doesn't play on a line with Danny Briere. As pointed out by MJL, Shelley and Clutterbuck were never on the ice at the same time and if they were, it was only by seconds. Shelley would still have to get to Clutterbuck in order for a showdown to happen. |

There's been plenty of spontaneous fights. But teams sending an enforcer out to fight a non enforcer. I don't know. It be easy to find out. Who are the enforcers still left in the League? - MJL

I would expect Rinaldo to step up if Shelley wasnt dressed. Once again you assume that Shelley has to fight Clutterbuck. |

Joe, I've brought my share of factual information to the conversation. Including looking at the TOI ice charts and Clutterbuck's fighting record. Others have to chip in and bring some facts. |

I guess as long as Shelley is around, this discussion will be. I've tried to supply some facts and shed light on what really happened. - MJL

I'm not assuming, I've been going by what many have been saying. This is a prime example where the story gets switched because Shelley's name is the one that keeps getting thrown around as the guy who should have challenged him. |

Nobody ran Briere either. He was hit with an open ice check when the puck wasn't there. It should have been an interference penalty, but it was nothing more then that.

Upper level, just to the right of the net.
Boardwalk Hall is unique for hockey. One end has limited seating. Saw a handful of ECHL games there. |

I gave exact facts. Including when players were on the ice together. All I got from you is goals and assists, and posts like this. I'm not interested in a discussion like this. Again, make a point. If you have a counter argument, bring it and we'll discuss it.

I dont think Shelley has to fight or go after Clutterbuck if he isnt on the ice. But you better believe he should make his presence known on the ice with physical play and mixing it up, whether that turns into yapping or fighting would be determined by the opponent. |

I"m not talking about the clutterbuck thing.
Was talking about Shelley being a legit NHL player.
Sorry for confusion

To be honest, I watched the game without sound last night. All I saw was Voracek get clutched and grabbed a tone last night and it got let go a lot. I saw Meszaros throw a huge hit behind the net that the Wild took offense to. There were plenty of hitting but nothing that made me scream to the high heavens of how unfair a specific hit was. |

He is a legit NHL player. He has played in the League for a Decade. That is the only fact needed to support that he's a legitimate NHL player. And he played last night and played well.

Again, no substance here. Nothing showing how I'm wrong. You don't even have to be a Hockey fan or have ever watched a Hockey game in your life to know that if a player has played in the NHL for a decade, and is currently still on an NHL team, then he is a legit NHL player |

Yep. Just one as of right now. Leighton is starting. Couple of interesting kids playing too...Calvin de Haan, Simon Despres, Thomas Hickey, Nazem Kadri and Joe Colborne are scheduled to play, among others.
My daughter's been bugging me to go to a game, and I haven't been able to drop the cash on Flyers tickets for her, plus the road trips have made it hard to find a non school night where I am not working.
