It must have. It definitely hit something because it changed directions. Harding had zero chance to stop any of the 5 Flyers goals. - PLindbergh31
Kind of the flip side of what people were saying after several Flyers games this year that had tons of deflection goals against us in that one stretch of games. |

Yeah, Schenn is who I had in mind. If he can stay healthy this year, it could happen. Really like his game and it will obviously only get better. Hoping in a year or two, he'll be a huge contributor. - OrangeBlack27
He's only played 16 games this and has been in and out of the lineup. He also missed a good amount of training camp. I think he can definitely be a solid contributor this year if he can get some momentum of playing consecutive games. |

Thats the part that I didn't understand. Yes you needed to improve your goalie but why sign a guy to a nine year deal with a NMC when you have a young guy that showed alot of promise and could very well be a starter in a year or so. - kgrpitt

Because you're not convinced that the young guy will ever be a Goalie that can play at a Vezina Trophy level, and he guy you targeted has. |

Very good question. I think the Flyers were tired of not having a number one goalie and decided this is who we need (Brzy) to end this carousel of goalies. No matter the years or money, Mr. Snider wanted it done. |

The Flyers could have had 10 goals last night. Harding stood on his head......
- MBFlyerfan
He did. A person would look at the boxscore and think he struggled, but watching the game the guy played well. That's 5 goals on Lundqvist, Thomas, or whoever last night |

Partly true. Some deflections are shots that can be stopped. The third Nashville goal that deflected in slow motion off two guys could and should have been stopped. Deflections on shots that are moving at a high rate of speed the goaltender doesn't have time to react. |

Finally, the Flyers looked like a well rounded team. If they play like this all the time through the playoffs there is an awesome chance for a parade.
As for the Rivera family my heart goes out to them, but this is all getting blown out of proportion. They have seen 2 other doctors that told them the same thing. Unfortunately if she does have a successful surgery, she is still going to pass away. The family is just trying to prolong the grief. - sjas95s10
I wasnt gonna touch on it because I work in the medical field and have a bit of a bias...but stuff like this happens ALL THE TIME. The thing is that now people use media outlets to disparage or often intimidate institutions.
I recently did just that with Comcast (as Jsaq knows full well).. I was unhappy, so my Fiance went on twitter and posted a tweet just saying we should have gone with Verizon. Problem was handled right away.
Now I will not say one thing or an other solely because it is a he said she said type issue. But from my experience, when people are given a grim prognosis, things can get complicated. I have seen it in all ages and demographics.. I have seen relationships sour because of it (husband & wife, brothers and sisters, etc.). At the end of the day, I personally find it very hard to believe that a Doctor (especially after others gave the same answer) would out right deny a patient the best approach to health care because of a disability. The unfortunate and rare condition that little Mia can (and in her case does) have a direct effect on the genitourinary system... its such a sad story, but the criticisms do not seem to be warranted from what I have read and heard.
Instead of supporting a battle between the family and the doctor, I think it would be beneficial to bring some awareness to this disability. |

Not this time. Bryzgalov is about to go on a serious run. Take a seat Bob!
*Those numbers are nice though. |

That's not really answering the question. That's just stating what you wouldn't do. - MJL
check my edit.. Do you think the Flyers made the best decision by signing him to a 9 year 51 mil deal with a full NMC? |

Last year's number for the 2 were very close.. Bryz had both a better save% and gaa..
2.51 to 2.48 and .915 and .921.
* Notice: One was playing in his first year of North American hockey* |

They should go with Bryz again, despite those impressive numbers.
Plus, all-time vs. a team stats are kind of a dumb barometer. He's not facing the same exact skaters yet again, amongst other varying factors. |

Simply put, Pronger/Timonen/Briere are getting up there and the front office thought we had enough pieces to get over the top with the addition of a franchise goalie. Bob certainly has the potential to be a franchise goalie, but that's all he is so far.
With adding Bryz and a few other pieces (Simmonds, Jagr, Vorcacek, Schenn), and losing some of your core, they thought the Flyers still had a chance to make a run. And to be honest, they still do. On top of that, Bob is still great trade bait in the future. |
