IPB posted a blog about How the Flyers, fans and Talbot are very angry about the hit. LOL. Talbot of all people. What a joke. - mighty13duck
Flyers fans swearing the hit was illegal. Shanny didn't see it that way. I posted a link a few days ago that showed that the initial contact appeared to be on Talbots chest but the arm came up on a follow-through. Oh well, without Staios in the game, that should ease things a bit.

not necessarily, tavares is still playing........ - LetsGoIsles
They'd be fools to go after Tavares as he and Talbot aren't exactly comparable. I doubt much will happen since Talbot isn't likely to seek anyone out and a tough guy would probably find another tough guy.
* EDIT...I do wish however we had called up Haley for the game.

Pronger is done for the year so I don't think Tavares has anything to worry about. Nielsen should probably keep his eye out for another swinging cross-check assault to the head from Briere though.

Still amazes me that Briere didn't get more than 3 games! He had already been twice suspended for stick infractions at that stage and that incident was on the heels of Simon's 20+ game suspension for his base hit on Holliweg.
Thats what I am afraid of. I do not trust Hartnell Talbot and a few others on that Flyers team. I hope Okposo is ready to fight. Today may get ugly. - mighty13duck
By fighting do you mean mike Tyson's punchout video game circa 1990?

Same. If they go after JT then a Pittsburgh brawl part 2 would occur. Next game would get ugly. Gillies and Haley would be called up.

MAYBE! Remember, it was that game that apparently led to Z's exit from the team. Wang was apparently beside himself over that game and I think Cappy got an earfull for it, which is why to this day he downplays that game's impact.

so??? they police themselves, if they think talbots health is comparable to tavares health then they can do whatever they want....its not exactly a court system over here, if they wanna go after JT, quite simply they will, and wont be much ramifications for it....they just shake parenteau off their leg once he latches onto them....id watch out for hartnell

First off,....will you PLEASE change your avatar!
As for who they would go after, teams tend to recognize there is protocol and code in the league. If you go after a teams STAR player, you recognize that your own star is exposed. Therefore, they'd open it up for the Isles to then target a recently concussed player like Claude Giroux. I doubt they'll open that can of worms. They'll likely wait until the next time they see Staios.

Years ago I went to an Isles/Rangers game...on St. Patrick's Day. When they announced the stars of the game the guy in front of us yelled, "The security guards!" - UIF
I was at a Rangers/Isles at coliseum in '87 or '88. An ENTIRE section in the 300's began to brawl. When play stopped, all the players and refs stopped to watch for the duration of the fracas. Was kind of surreal. Some of my friends were in it. Security ejected the entire section. The rest of the arena was packed, save for one section that was totally empty. Ah, the good ol days.....

Not in any way suggesting you're making that fact up, but was there ever anything actually written/reported on that? I've heard it elsewhere but I don't think I've (personally) ever seen it recorded. Just curious.
