Not in any way saying you're making that fact up, but was there ever anything actually written/reported on that? I've heard it elsewhere but I don't think I've (personally) ever seen it recorded. Just curious. - eichiefs9
was wang observing the crowd. still the most single most exciting game in last 5 years.

It came from a couple of different places but frankly I can't remember the source at this point. It started with the post game comments when t one point after the Pens game former dman Aaron Ward said the following thorugh TSN:
" Ironic that a team owned by Charles Wang involved in incident like this. Known amongst players in the past and confirmed by source: he’s had a “get fighting out of hockey” mandate. What position are we taking now?"
While I've defended Wang plenty, one thing that's always been known with him is he's wanted to make the game very family oriented (remember the elimination of the chicken dance song). There was also a source at one point (either Botta, Strang or Art) who claimed that Wang was upset with the Pens game. |

I still can't believe Hamilton and Couturier got passed us.
I would have loved having either one of those players on the Islanders.
Still not sold on Strome. |

At draft Day I wanted Strome over Couturier and I still feel the same way. Strome has a work ethic that rivals JT. He will be a very good player. No reason to rush him. |

Couturier would have been my first choice of the two based on his size. The Isles have desperately needed a big strong forward who can score in the dirty areas. Couturier has great skill and size. Strome however is the more talented of the two and could become an elite scorer. I would have been fine with either. |

Strome is going to be dynamite. No need to rush him into the league. I've watched him play vs. the 67s here in Ottawa (OHL), and he dominates. He looked great in the world jrs too.
Just because he isn't playing yet, don't write him off as inferior to either Couturier- in my opinion he's going to be a far better player. |

couturier possesses something even better than skill and size - hockey sense. it's off the charts, especially for a 19 year old rookie. he's defensively responsible, virtually always in the right spot, and is making a difference in limited minutes generally in a 4th line role. he was a bloody steal at #8. love this kid. love him. |

Ive been to about 250 Flyers games in my life.. I can tell you right now.. you will get heckled and what not.. but thats expected anywhere. It wont get ugly, the people around you should be fine, and you should have a good time.
Do yourself a favor.. dont be an bumhole. Dont be the guy who, when the Isles score (still hoping for Bobs first shutout), stands up and starts pointing to the scoreboard and yelling at fans and just being a total jerkoff. Thats a recipe for bad news. I have only seen 3 fights in all of those games... and each one involved a drunk fan from the other team, and a drunk fan from the Flyers.. and both were loud the entire game... - jak521
didn't bob post a shutout in the first game of the season? |

I don't think anyone that really has a clue has written him off because Couturier is playing and he isn't. It's obvious that any player that steps in to an organization at the point the Flyers are at is going to succeed better than someone who has to play with the Islanders. I'll admit I wanted to go defense last year, in fact I was totally against Strome even if we did take a forward. But after doing my HW on him I'll fully admit I was wrong and I'm definitely real happy with him. |

He was definitely a steal at 8, no argument there. Hopefully Scheifele works out for the Jets, that was a bit of a reach. |

I was happy when we picked Strome, but knew it wasn't good when Couturier fell to the Flyers and would be in our division. If anything though, I was mad at Ottawa and especially Winnipeg for passing on him and letting him get that far down. |

Talbot was at the center of all the nonsense in the brawl game vs Pittsburgh last year, after he cheapshotted Comeux I think in the previous game with the DP/Johnson fight. Talbot came out of that game looking like less than a man, he got beat up all over the place out there. |

you know who disgusts me in that second game, the brawl game? Gillies I think is his name, the guy who boarded a penguin, then tried punching him when he was clearly dazed.......and then to top it off, he's standing there talking trash to the injured penguin......Islanders fans should not complain about talbot after what that scumbag did. |
