Cant hurt to have Jagr around another year. Like I said, I dont think any of our wingers are ready to be number 1's, and can only get better with another year watching and learning from Jagr. And he will probally come at a slight discount, maybe 2-2.5 million range.
Then after next season we will have Timonen, Briere, and Jagr's cap hit off the books, and hopefully by then the youth will be ready to step up. But if I'm the Flyers I dont give Couturier, Schenn, or Voracek a contract until they earn it. Unlike JVR's contract. - RooNosHockey
So what do you do walk away from Couturier, Schenn, or Voracek if they don't "earn it"? |

here is the full tweet of that rumor but the guy only has 78 followers probably fake:
WireHockey WireHockey
#flyers #rumors The flyers are in talks with Nashville. They have offered JVR, Brayden #Schenn and a 2nd for Weber or Suter. Sign and trade!

Just saw the rumor and the answer is no. You make this trade and suddenly we're weak up front. |

In a world with no cap space..
I'd love to drop JVR for Ryan...
|
|
|
|
For Weber i'd do it...
Not for Suter though - archion113
Not even for Weber. I'm doubting he gets moved during the regular season anyway. Suter could get moved at the deadline if Nashville gets off season help but moving Suter is another tricky move seeing how important he is to the Preds. Both might have to wait until the off season. |

Are you into being looked at smugly by an animal who doesn't give a poop about you until it's bored or time to eat? Because that's what cats do. |

Clearly they claimed him to include him in a package deal that will send both Suter and Weber to the Flyers. |

No, give them a short term contract for the value of play they are making. I'm just saying dont go giving these guys 6 year contracts next year based on what you think they may become, or on 1 year's performance. Dont make the same mistake you did with Richards and Carter, and possible JVR, though its not long term, I dont think he has earned 4 mill a year yet. |

Note that he mentioned JVR's contract. He means, I'm sure, you don't move onto a long-term deal before a guy is getting close to UFA status unless he's shown you he's earned it. I'm guessing he feels the long-term deal on JVR was premature and going for a shorter-term, or even 1-year deal when you'll still control the rights at the end would have been wiser, in his opinion. |

You cant have it both ways.
The Flyers as it stands, are one of the top offensive teams in the league. They can lose a few goals up front.
A guy like Weber is someone who can take over games, and win the Conn Smythe. You overpay for guys like that. He is in his prime.
Either way I think Nashville would laugh at that offer. Not nearly enough. I understand that losing some depth would be an issue, but you have to give to get. Weber is a top 3 d-man in the league. |
