Did LeClair have Lindros his entire career? Did Knuble have Forsberg his entire career? Did Hartnell have Giroux his entire career? Now you're just downplaying what each player can do. Funny thing is, both Forsberg and Lindros spent a lot of time hurt. - Schenn2shine
Your just upset because you will have to change your name to Weber2shine. |

Possibly..but what if Anaheim says "oh yeah, Getzlaf + Ryan + our 1st."?
Just pointing out that guys like Weber, a generational type dman, won't be had for maybes and potential. nashville will want some high assets, and they will get them. - GuyLaDouche
I don't think any team would give up that much for Weber. And if so, I think they're nuts. |

If he wants 8 million I would disagree with this a bit. He may get his 8 million, but it wont be from a team that wants to win now, because that 8 million will gut a lot of teams.
Players, I believe, understand this economic reality, and have been adjusting somewhat.
If Suter wants that kind of contract with that kind of cap hit I want no part of him. - MBFlyerfan
This is where you will see if he is about the money or winning. It depends on what he wants in the end. He may also price himself out of Nashville just to go eleswhere when the season is over.. At this point who knows whats going on... Its a mad world |

I dont see teams giving up a ridiculous amount for Weber. I love Weber and think he is one of those defenseman who come around once and awhile but I rather build a team, than build around one guy who will chew up alot of money. Now if the price to trade for him wasnt ridiculous, I would be all for it. - stveshdy
Why? He's unquestionably (every vowel in the english language yes!) a dman that makes your team much better. He hits, puts up points, PP, PKs, leads..he's the total package. I personally don't think there is a better all round dman in the game right now. Best since Prongs in his prime. |

If Anaheim offers that, David Poile drives Weber to Anaheim himself to make sure nothing happens in route. |

Weber is 26, not 34... Weber will be here for the future... As will Couturier, Giroux, Read, Simmonds, Voracek, and thier future draft picks... Trading 2 of 7 young player for another 1 young player that is in the position they need and already devepeoped is a Good trade. - RooNosHockey
JvR is 22, Schenn is 20. What's your point? JvR had more points then Simmonds before his injuries. JvR is more skilled then Simmonds. It's like you're okay with taking the plan B just to get Weber. There is more to a team then just one player. On top of this Weber already gets paid 7.5 million, which swallows both JvR and Schenn's contracts alive and most of our cap space along with it. |

I agree. I love Weber but im not trading all of my top chips for him. JvR+Schenn+1st rd for Weber is too much. Now if Nashville takes the 1st rd pick out, I would seriously consider making that deal (Jvr, Schenn for Weber). |

Sharks seem to be making some sort of move involving Niittymaki...reports saying that he no longer has a stall in SJ room. |

If you wouldn't do JVR, Schenn, and a 2nd for Weber your crazy...
Weber is a franchise dman... he's a beast in every zone on the ice... guys like him come around one in a blue moon...
JVR and Schenn come around every year... |

And Pronger, in his prime, was traded for two young players (Lupul, Smid) and a first and 2nd round pick. |

I went a little over the top making a point, that being that just because a teams fans overvalue certain players doesn't mean NHL GMs do. No way in hell Tambi trades Eberle AND Hall..this years 1st would just be the icing on big cake of stupid. It would make edmonton's defence better while eviscerating the offence. |

Even then I wouldn't. It would have to be JvR or Schenn and all the other parts would have to be worked out another way (prospects and draft picks). |

I think teams will give up a nice package, just dont see them giving up everything to acquire him. At some point teams will draw a line and say thats too much for him (even as good as he is). I love Weber and would love to have him but im not trading all my assets to acquire him, has to still be reasonable. |

I thought they were beeching about having to give that much money to Weber? Now they wanna give it to the other guy and possibly weber? - JoeRussomanno
They want to sign both of them long term. The hold up with Weber isn't cash, it's Weber wanting to be sure he doesn't get stuck on a long term deal with a team that will always be cannon fodder in the early rounds of the playoffs. |

Sent to AHL on conditioning stint. Rumor is he's not happy with lack of playing time. |
