just curious was all. since you think Schenn and JVR is too much. just a question. - GuyLaDouche
I don't know what I would trade to be honest with you. I just don't know I wouldn't do both JvR and Schenn. |

Yea if they pay attention to Snider, they will learn pay money for players a$$es will fill the seats. Then money isn't an issue
Edit: hope we can pry one of them bastaches from em though! - JoeRussomanno
Bigger issue is corporate sponsorship. The Flyers point at their attendence, get corporate sponsor to buy luxury boxes and sponsor goals, and power plays, etc, and rake in more cash. |

Just once id like to see the flyers not trade everything in site for one player....Webber is the Lindros of defenseman he is going to cost more than JVR and some picks.....probably see JVR+SCHEnn+COuts +2 1sts go thats where i would start if i were nashville... - Philly1980
I would laugh at Nashville if they asked for that package. |

ahh.. score, i took as point. My bad. Still dont know about that.. - jak521
Niether do I. But as to both points, I think we would all be giddy if JVR put up Carter type numbers. Though that would still make him a bust I guess.
And Cooter and Voracek are both more playmakers than goal scorers. And part of me wonders if Voracek will be here next season. |

I haven't seen enough from either of them to think that they could be a franchise player.
But you said it your self... they COULD be...
Weber IS already someone you build your team around. - archion113
does weber block shots like a mad man without being consistently injured?
Does he clear the net to prevent these "flukey deflections" for Bryz?
Will he make our power play relevant? |

Exactly my point if your getting webber thats what your going to pay! |

I definitely don't give up all that for weber. maybe one of the kids and JVR for him and definitely no first rounders screw that, this draft is supposed to be deep. |

We've been trying to "Win now" for years. Shea Weber isn't going to instantly change this. Eric Lindros was one of the best and most feared players in the 90's and he didn't do it for us. When Chris Pronger won a Cup with the Ducks, he had a supporting cast to help him. Heck, one could debate whether or not Pronger was the number 1 Dman on that team because of Scott Neidermayer. Weber doesn't guarantee us anything. - Schenn2shine
Neither do Schenn or JVR! But at least you know if you trade Schenn and JVR you still have Giroux, Couturier, Read, Voracek and Simmonds... Who will be playing defense on this future team of yours??? MAB going to be your number 1? Marshall number 2? |

you consider a guy who has 360 points in 491 career games and is still 25ish a bust? - nastyflyergirl
if he was so good and had a "great" contract why was he traded? |

That is insane. If that is the asking price- NO thanks.
I say JVR and our 2nd to TOR for L. Scheen and their 1st. Or trade draft picks for an older player and go with it. The Flyers are only peripheral cup contenders this year. No need to mortgage the farm IMHO. |

Chris Pronger's wife, Lauren, echoed her husband's disappointment and concern when discussing his status with CSN this week. She said he has, "good days, bad days. It's been a lot of trauma going on, and we're just praying right now....He's battling. He wants to be out there more than anybody. It's tough for all of us to watch him go through this." Pronger isn't expected to return this season because of post-concussion syndrome.

No, it won't. If it did, I'd do it in a heartbeat. They're going to want a couple of high picks and possibly another player included for Weber and say Smithson or someone similar. |

Shelley plays every night if you move JvR and Schenn and we're at a disadvantage at forward. You could go other route, such as Tyler Myers with the Sabers. The options are there if you open your eyes. I'm not against getting Weber, just not at that cost. |

The attendance has improved. But I'm not sure about the corporate angle. That's the real key. The Flyers get a boatload of cash from PECO, Tastykake, etc. They also get a nice bit of coin from Comcast Sports Net and TCN, not to mention WIP's rights. |
