I look at it as a show on HBO, that edits hours of footage down to a fewminutes and things getting taken way out of context.
Far more telling to me is a guy after a bad game, cursing his own effort and saying he sucked and being visibly angry. If Bryz was talking that universe stuff after the Tampa Bay game, I'd agree that him being goofy is a very valid beef.
But he's pissed off when he loses. Watch the post game. The frustration is obvious. - Jsaquella
And from what I saw after the win tuesday night he looked like he wasn't completely satisfied which to me tells me his head is where it needs to be. |

i agree. it was a visceral thing and i don't feel that way right now. it was just that those things were going on and that's what was being seen at the same time he wasn't playing well. it was an easy way to feel, even if you know it's not right, at the time. |

Weber and Chara both do all that. I'm just saying until the team as a whole buys into or manages to execute team defense on a consistent basis, One guy isn't gonna be the end all. - JoeRussomanno
You have to start somewhere. Is this current defensive core good enough to win this year? If not, then going after Weber and giving up some young players isnt the end. Young defenseman who is a shutdown guy with leadership qualities that helps in every area is an upgrade. You can find other forwards to replace Schenn and JvR (If thats what it takes). Neither Jvr or Schenn have done much this year anyways. Both have been hurt most of the season and the Flyers have done a great job still. |

You need to watch Weber more. Its all you will need to do to want him as badly as i do. - archion113
as far as defences go, guys like Weber really can be the be all end all. they enable guys that are prehaps playing too many minutes in pressure situations to play less minutes and play more what their roles should be. holes in forward lines can be covered up. much harder to do on a blueline. |

Rubbed who the wrong way? For like a week, Bryz was a star when all that Tiger killing talk happened. At this point we were on a winning streak. A week later the streak came to an end and the first thing people blamed it on were his comments on 24/7. The guy reads books and watched discovery channel and was voicing what he's learned. Somehow that's a bad thing. I suppose players are suppose to remain mind numbingly dumb and dull. - Schenn2shine
i'm not saying that i'm bothered at all by his comments or behavior...on the contrary, i enjoy his openness/honesty/quirkiness.
i'm talking about the general fanbase. take a look around the web on other boards and he's being poop on and mocked tirelessly. |

that's all true as well. and i loved that he threw himself under the bus and owned his performance. most fans clamor for honesty, and when it actually arrives, they can't handle it. that goes for the media, too. - hammarby31
That's the thing, he willingly takes the bullet when he's bad. He gets pissed at himself when he allows a bad goal. He can talk about the universe and our problems being small or whatever else...but he does get mad when he muffs a save or let's in a weak goal.
Even when he's critical of his teammates, he doesn't shrug off his own responsibility. |

Yup. Easier to find forwards than a shutdown defenseman who does it all. Those players are very rare to find. |

Nope. He was pissed at himself for the goal he allowed.
He's not unmindful of his job or the fact that he needs to get better. I don't think for a minute he's just milking a paycheck or content about his performance. |

Let them. In my opinion he probably would have said what he said whether the 24/7 camera were on or not. In my opinion, they're making fun of the accent. He wasn't fully able to say what he was trying to say. |
