And I doubt Anaheim will get much for Selannie considering he is 40, on the last year of a contract and will only give permission to be traded to 3 teams.

I don't think you win this year by depleting the depth that got you where you are now, for a defenseman with a concussion that can be had for much cheaper in the offseason. I'd rather get a 3-4 type defenseman and go for the big fish in the offseason.

It's not a tough trade, it's a short sighted waste of resources that doesn't significantly improve the chances of winning this year.

They might not get much for Selanne, but I doubt they jump at a second rounder and a never will be for him.

The playoffs last year were a disaster. You have the already discussed Leighton wrong call. And how about Bob goes from being the starter when the playoffs began to being scratched a few games later based upon one game??? Way to kill a first year player's confidence. Nothing good could have come from Bob starting the WC. Bob is not going to be the goalie come playoff time - please understand that. So him winning the WC does nothing for the Flyers come playoff time. Bryz winning the WC however would have been huge. If he started and lost it would have been just another bump. Bad call Lavy.

Lavy won the cup despite his goaltender flip flopping and it was the worst thing that could have happened for Flyers fans. (Certainly good for Lavy though)

How come you can't consider Bob starting in the playoffs if Laviolette is so awful at goalie decisions? He will probably blow that decision and start Bob then too

He is a first ballet HOF'r who at the ripe old age of 40 is still a top 50 player and adds a wealth of vet presence. He will cost AT LEAST a 1st+.

If you are trading Schenn + for a d-man in Nashville.. its for the guy who is a RFA. Otherwise you sit tight and make a smaller trade for Gleason.

Actually I would like any player that hits one of our players in the head to get payback. It has nothing to do with the media and everything to do how hockey is played. Stand up for your teammates.

I don't know if it should have been a suspension, but you have to let him know he won't get away with it. That might just mean hitting him hard every chance you get.

He gave head shot to Talbot with what looked to be a forearm or elbow from my sofa.. and when the Flyers were letting him they were not too happy about it he just grinned.

Exactly. That's why I think there's no chance the Flyers get either guy before the season is over. The only way to get them would be to grossly overpay which would be a huge mistake.
