Sutton, for a big guy, sure has some decent puck handling skills....been quite impressed with him this season.

You're not kidding. Seem him stick-handle through a few people. Didn't think I'd see that from him when the Oilers acquired him.

even if it's the real Kypreos, it doesn't matter. won't pay attention until Mac, Dreger or Stauffer mention it.

Hall could go tonight if his eye wasn't so swollen. Signs of infection would be showing already. I imagine that the medical staff did a pretty good job of cleaning and stitching. I imagine he'd be wearing a cage though, even though he wears a visor there is a still a risk of that being reopened.

For it being a very big, ugly scar, it does look like the docs did a great job sewing it up.

I can understand why there was talk that his season was over. Last night everyone freaked at Josh Rimer for his comment and at me for re-Tweeting it, but Hall's picture speaks for itself. I am very, very nervous for Hall if he returns too soon.

Totally agree, if we are re-signing someone it should be Sutton. Why in the Frak would we re-sign Barker, let alone this early? What has he proved or shown us that is worth re-signing? and if we are looking at next year and improving our D where does he fit?

We are stuck with Whitney, hopefully next year he can get back to playing well. Ideally it would be great of we could put Smid and Gilbert back as our second pairing, so:

Whitney/Ideally top 1 d ufa signing (Suter)
Smid/Gilbert
Sutton/Potter

If we can't get a quality top 1 dman via UFA, etc then we look at getting someone that is solid in their own end to fill that gap for a year and try for Weber the year after.

also have to remember that skull gashes always look worse than they actually are. they probably had a hard time keeping him out tonight.

Ebs back, Hall won't be out long, Nuge not too long and Gibby too. i can see some limited light at the end of the tunnel

It would be stupid for him to play seeing as where the cut sits on his head in regards to his helmet position. Infection isnt a big isssue seeing as players get cut and stitched all the time and keep playing. One rub on the helmet from another player and that sucker is gonna split like clouts's pants after a visit to an all you can eat buffet. And other players in the league know about the injury so you can be damn sure they will go after it.

I don't like "all you can eat" or "buffets" just so you know.

I have, however, split my pants before. So you're not completely out to lunch with this.

Wow, Hall sure is injury prone. I know this was a flukey one, but seems like he some how always manages to get injured.

With lucky, the Oilers can get collectively health in time to assist us in dealing Hemsky, Belanger, Khabibulin, and anyone else who doesn't fit into the long-term plan. I also hope the Oil deal Smyth and Sutton with the intention of re-signing them in the summer as UFA's. Both players, if they love the Oil, should volunteer to be moved because doing so would bring in, at the very least, a couple of decent draft picks (maybe a 2nd for Smyth and a 3rd for Sutton).

I like that idea of the players wanting to be traded and re-signing but they have to be thinking, what if they bring in someone better than me and i lose ice time next season or have to sit in the press box for a few games, that would suck for them

I agree but I just don't see how we could get rid of him or who would take him with his salary and injury woes. Unfortunately I think we are stuck with him and we just need to hope next year he turns it around and has value at the trade deadline.

Yeah he's a leech. Just hope he can stay healthy next year so we could maybe get a pick at the trade deadline.

Or one other option is he gets healthy, gets his poop together and plays like he did last season before he got a boo boo on his ankle and turned to crap

Sutton is a 2nd pairing defenseman. I hope we don't trade him. Like to resign him to a 2 year contact.

Stauffer is the best. He probably reads Cloutier for a good laugh, no offense Boner.
