As for Eager on the 1st line, heck why not. He seems to play better the more mins he gets a game. I would seriously like to try him with Eberle and Rnh for a game or 2 he has the wheels to keep up with them and has some scoring ability plus the muscle wouldn't hurt. - EastCoastOiler
Eager had the skill to keep up.
Don't forget he was a 1St round pick a little while back.
Youd take Grigorenko over the generational talent in Yakupov?
Sorry man but thats (frank)ed. They said this draft isn't even gunna be close in terms of who goes number 1. - Pilgor09
I don't know. I almost see the Yakupov vs. Grigorenko being a lot like Ovechkin vs. Malkin. No doubt OV was the more exciting young player but Malkin had as much skill. Almost a quiet skill compared to OV's flash. I think both will have super careers. Hard not to go for the one that is the big center of the two.

well keep in mind we will probably not be drafting first, will most likely be second or third cause i dont see columbus finishing ahead of us, once hall, nuge and eberle are all back, should be able to finish with more points than CBJ, assuming no more freak accidents happen to those kids

ISS has Grigs at #1. That generational word is massively premature. it shouldn't even be used until a guy shows it in the NHL. Personally, I doubt either will be as good as Malkin or Ovechkin.

To be honest I don't know why people think that Centres are so much more important to the team compared to wingers. Just because Pittsburgh won a cup doesn't mean you need 3 unreal centres.

You don't win without a #1 center. Just the way it is. Centers take care of a load of different things. Thats why it's so vital, and so hard to get a really good one.

Yeah cause Iss wants to be noticed. By the end of the year they'll have him at #1. Happens every year.

JuSt wait until a team wins with winger depth and that'll be the new fad.
When Pittsburgh won it was you needed 2 elite centers. When Boston won it was you needed a solid all around team. When this years team wins it they'll be the new standard.

Eager should have been getting big minutes all year long.
- kingbrehm
well, seeing as how i can do that move i am pretty sure it takes more than that to be on the top line, that being said, the dude is absolutely insanely fast out there, could def move up from the fourth line and get more minutes to create havok to for the other team on the for check, definitely worthy of more minutes than he has been getting all year long

Similar pace to Yakupov. Plus, it's his rookie year and like I said, kid has size. We've drafted enough undersized guys and if there are two similar players but one happens to have some size, take the guy with size. we really can't keep taking undersized forwards.

don't think anyone ever said that. think back to all the previous winners. how many didn't have a dominant center?
frankly, id rather see a package where they trade down to get an extra 1st rounder and get more defensive help.
