Cue fans of other teams coming in and saying "_____ is not available! If you want him it would take at LEAST Kesler, the Sedins, Schneider, Luongo etc!"

I can see both Moen and Gill fitting in nicely on that Canucks team. A Moen-Malhotra duo would be stellar defensively and Gill would make your PK that much better.

I think Montreal-Vancouver would make a great partnership.

No, no... you can have Komisarek.
In fact, please, take him.

Any way we can pick up 3 of these guys... Nothing wrong in carrying9-12 d-men on the NHL roster.

Agreed. I think Raymond + A Pick/Prospect is a fair offer for Moen + Gill.

The guy was a beast in MTL and should be in his prime right now. I can't believe his stock has fallen this far.

Management seems to have a "thing" for stockpiling on D-Men and small forwards.

1040 says he practiced with Edler today—an interesting pairing. I could see that either being great, or an absolute disaster.

Whatever......way too much. I was thinking that for Moen and Gill to trade something like Rome and a 2nd or maybe a second and a third? Something along those lines.

I really don;t want to see Moen dealt but Habs need a face lift. He would be an absolute perfect compliment to Malhotra. Moen is really good at both ends of the rink.

Gill is a guy I've loved as well but Habs have alot of D-men. He is by far our best player on the PK and has tremendous leadership. Great for a playoff run for you guys.

Here our forwards actually are alot bigger than what most people think but we have some good young D-men here and coming. We need to part with Weber, Campoli and Gill.

No way in hell AV lets MG trade Rome.

How has Gill been anyways? I liked what I saw the last two years in the playoffs.

He is showing his age. But he is an amazing locker room guy, plays unbelievably well on the PK and sticks up for guys if he has to. Honestly, i'm not saying this because he is a Hab. He would be the ideal rental for the Canucks. Solidify that D, steady the PK and bring even more leadership and a cup to the room.

My picks from your list, in order of preference:

Hal Gill- 2.25 mil
Why he's available – UFA, age, MTL are done for the season whether they realize it yet or not.
What it would take to get him- If a 4/5 rd pick would do it, jump on it. The guy’s a giant and a proven playoff performer. My #1 choice for D depth.

Stephane Robidas- 3.3 mil
Why he's available- I doubt he is since Dallas are a playoff contender.
What it would take to get him- I'm thinking Raymond + a 4th.

Derek Morris- 2.75 mil
Why he's available- I doubt he is, but you never know.
What it would take to get him- If a mid round pick or prospect would land him, then a 3rd or Connaughton.

Greg Zanon- 1.933 mil
Why he's available – MIN have made no secret of their desperation in attaining top 6 forwards.
What it would take to get him- Raymond for Zanon + a pick

Bryan Allen- 2.9 mil
Why he's available – UFA to be and CAR are headed for a lottery pick
What it would take to get him- If a 3rd pick is the price, pay that.

Marc-Andre Gragnani- 550,000
Why he's available – The Sabres have a cluster on the blueline and none of them are helping Miller’s GAA.
What it would take to get him- Agreed, Raymond for Gragnani. This won’t address our need for size but might for added blueline offense at a great price.

Slava Voynov- 817,000
Why he's available- He seems to be less available with every passing game.
What it would take to get him- Agreed, Raymond for Voynov although he’s not yet playoff mustered and might not be a big boost for this year’s playoff.

Just mentioning Rome but there would be no room for him here either. Ideally we could use a Hansen or someone along those lines but that sort of thing wouldn't make sense for the Habs.

Perhaps a 2nd and a 3rd would be the most ideal otherwise a tweak to it and Montreal somehow landing something of more worth? No ideas on that however

I don't think that is enough personally. Gill wants to remain a Hab and the team loves him so there was talk of him re-signing. As such I think it would cost minimum a 3rd or because of the Canucks contending possibly even a second. It's one of the downfalls of being a good team. A second is like most teams 3rds.

Ballard is more likely to go AV is still upset that he stole a pack of gum from him, in his first week after being traded to Vancouver

if ballard is leaving and Gauthier is still GM then I'm sure our dumb ass GM jumps on it adding it to kaberle and Gomez as worst contracts in the league.

What is with all the Parros talk? We don't need him for the 4th line, we need someone who could play and hit on the 3rd line.
