hey, don;t steal Montreal recipe for success. We dress 7, sometimes 8 guys a night - willey101
If that's the case then forget about it. Montreal success is not the kind of success we are looking for. |

If they give Tanev the opportunity, I guarantee he fills the void. Just let him get acclimated and he'll be magic. I still think he's a RH Yandle clone. - DrChristianTroy
I think if you can get Gill or Zanon for cheap.. you do it. This is to replace an almost guaranteed Salo injury. Or any other possible injuries... they could even dress Gill against a team like San jose... and Tanev against detroit. Go with 7 on some nights.
Again... I wouldn't pay more than a 2nd for Gill... or like schroeder and a 3rd for zanon. That sort of thing.
My dream guy is troy brouwer... almost impossible... but exactly what we need. Tim Jackman... Adam Burrish... Derek Dorsett... Jared Boll.. all nice possibilities.
Just my dream list. |

I wish Vancouver had made a run for Brouwer, local kid who hits all the time with some offense. |

Raymond, tanev and a 2nd for robidas, grossman and burish - NoobasaurusRex
I actually think that is fair for both sides... its a gamble for both sides... because tanev could end up being a keith yandle type player... or just another run of the mill journeyman.
Although that gives us 9 NHL calibre defenseman... youd probably have to take alberts in the deal as well.
Very fair proposal IMO though. |

Im thinking Ballard. I don't know how much Raymond makes but we would be close to the cap floor, and his contract would help both us of by trading him to us. |

I dont know why people think that Nashville is going to trade Suter ahead of Weber.... I think they will listen to offers for both and see what is the best possible trade. Weber is obviously the captain and the face of the franchise... but he obviously doesn't want to be there long term.
I think if Weber gets traded... its to either Vancouver or possibly edmonton... and if Suter gets traded... its to Detroit. |

Although Ballard is slightly overpaid... he is still much better than what people have seen here... he has been a healthy scratch for no reason... and has not been given a fair shake.. he is a top 4 guy with the right situation.
Raymond I believe is 2.25 or somewhere along there.
I suppose Ballard.. Raymond and Tanev might make more sense? Cap wise you would be getting back about a 800 grand more. |

Dallas cannot give up more than 1.4 worth of cap in the deal or they go below the floor. I pointed this out a couple of days ago. Just like we couldnt take that salary right now as well. |

So what you're saying is you don't know how it's going to work out? - whipper334
Pretty much. Could work out well, as both are decent puck movers, but, both are also prone to defensive mistakes. I'm hoping that when they're on the ice the Canucks will have a good breakout and puck-possession game, but we could also be in for lots of turnovers and odd-man rushes, similar to the L.A. game. |

I'd say that was fair. Van gets 2 legit dman that fill the Nasty role as well.Robidas is a leader and throws big checks, with some offensive upside, and grossman is just a good solid shut down man. Burish is exactly what you guys need for the playoffs. We get top 6 fwd help and a young dman. Ballard will be playing in a smaller market with less pressure on him. Maybe some picks involved but I'm ok with this deal. |

I think we keep underestimating the market for Shea Weber. NSH would literally be getting calls from all 29 teams in the league for this guy. That being the case, you have to believe there will be better offers than anything we're willing to put together and definitely better than Edler/Raymond/1st.
The only rumoured players available that I've seen which even come close are from ANA (Getzlaf, etc). Parise would be comparable but NJ can’t afford Weber’s salary. Don’t get me wrong, Weber on the Canucks would be outrageous but I just don’t think the pieces Gillis would be willing to trade would entice NSH in a direct deal. It’s possible for a 3 way but that opens up too many possibilities to discuss. |

I think you are underestimating Edler's value. he is signed for a couple more at 3.25, very reasonable for someone who could finish top 5 for points. only issue with this deal is they might not want raymond |

Unles the deal is kesler, Raymond, edler, tanev and a 1st then no. We love him here. Our future captain and easily can turn into a 90 pt player that dominates every game. For the right package I wouldn't be upset if we traded morrow to you guys. |

Moan and Gill would be fantastic but baring that im thinking Sutton as a 7th dman, beuchamin maybe, or maybe mitchell... isnt he a ufa after this season and we all know he is a tough sob... - Sirfunkyton
Sutton plays over the line too often. Two suspensions this season I think. |
