Montreal shouldn't be trading for established players right now. They should be focusing on draft picks and prospects. Habs roster as it sits doesn't have the depth to bring in players to right this ship.
Habs should look at what Brian Murray did.
To me if the Habs continue to look for the solution in trading roster players for roster players, they'll just be spinning their wheels. - Sheppy99

Doesn't seem like a good trade for Montreal. Maybe Gauthier is trying to get fired? |

Seriously? Kaleta and Gerbe are untouchable?
I love Gerbe's work ethic but he's far from untouchable and Kaleta won't even be on the team next year - RayHatesDomi
Love the energy Gerbe gives but id rather have a guy with 40 goals. Gerbe is your typical small guy that Buffalo people love.
If Kaleta has learned nothing else then he should learn this whatever number they tell you he will make you sign it and be happy you have a job. Kaleta has no place on any other team than the sabres do to the hometown discount. Kennedy searched more money and found himself on the bus in the ahl |

Gauthier needs to go, as well as some of the overpaid players. That's it and that's all right now. No big acquisitions or ground breaking moves, they aren't making the playoffs, it's pretty crystal clear at this point.
Free up some cap space over the summer, and let someone try and build (not necessarily rebuild) this team properly for the next 2-3 years. There's some promise in the few prospects the team has, and if they manage to do well this summer in a deep draft things might not be dark for that long. |
