I'd jump on that trade as well. Staal is ana elite player. pacioretty will never be that, Diaz is a role guy and unless we get top 2 this draft is fairly weak.

If Roy really is involved, and I can't see him being sent the other way unless one of the other players under performing in Buffalo such as Boyes, Leinno, Regher are part of a deal.

Buffalo is deep at center with Adams, Gerbe, Ennis, Roy, Boyes and Hecht so the trade makes sense.

Personally if a trade between both goes down, I can also see Montreal taking Regher as part of it.

Knowing Gauthier is desperate, I'm sure he's ready to gamble the future today to save his ass. I feel for you MTL fans...
