It seems Meszy plays a little more of an aggressive play when paired with Gustafsson. Not necessarily a knock on Lilja, Meszy seems to jump into the play more. I think Meszy has more confidence he can cover for him with his speed. - ravishingone
Could be. I'd love for each of them to communicate on the bench beforehand and take turns doing that. it's such a lift to the forwards when the D get active in the offense from time to time. |

simm - Don'tForgetTocchet
ah yes thank you, Simmonds makes me feel a lot better about the top 9. I wouldn't mind seeing a real banging line on the 4 line with

If Briere was clobbered on the play, why was there no response from the team?

Something is not making sense here. Briere played 7:21 in the 3rd period. His last shift ended at 18:55 of the 3rd period. When did he get the concussion, walking back to the locker room? |

Briere took a cheap shot from behind, I think in the 2nd period. He was standing to the side of the net and got clobbered.
Play was no where near him, a Devil nailed him and he went down and was on his hands a knees for a minute or so. I was surprised no penalty was called. - Marc D
Horrible. Those are the most dangerous hits. When you are completely unaware and vulnerable. |

So Briere is now out with concussion. How do they get enough players in? |

You think Schenn takes Briere's spot centering Voracek and Talbot?
Or keep him with Giroux and Hartnell?
I would leave Simmond/Couts/Read together, they look like they can play shut down against top lines and provide offense. |

They are in the process of cloning Shelley. A fourth line of 3 Shelleys.

Right but how does that effect the cap? This was a costly game. |

Maybe he was embellishing but he looked to be in pain. - Marc D
I'm sure it hurt. But he was on the ice like he was mortally wounded.

Schenn
Couturier
The future is now for these guys.
Come to think of, if all these rookies are this good now, just think how good they'll be in 5 years if we don't trade them all away? |

I was at the game Marc. I saw Clarkson mash him into the boards, then watched Boulton pick his teeth with him.

That was a dive I thought by Briere trying to draw a penalty. Just your basic shot to the ribs. - MJL
Looked like he hit his head on the Devil in front of him |
