The Flyers have 4.5M to play with. - MJL
Cool thanks. But still this sucks. Bruins tomorrow and they are missing a lot of players. |

Something is not making sense here. Briere played 7:21 in the 3rd period. His last shift ended at 18:55 of the 3rd period. When did he get the concussion, walking back to the locker room? - MJL
Maybe he read some trade rumors after the game and is... *gasp* faking it. |

Looked like he hit his head on the Devil in front of him - wilsonecho91
If he did, I missed that. Maybe that is when he got the concussion. Which I'm still confused by.

I was at the game Marc. I saw Clarkson mash him into the boards, then watched Boulton pick his teeth with him. - PLindbergh31
At the game, or watching it from home, Shelley played well and did his job. The fight was no where as lopsided as you describe.

Honestly, I want to say the Flyers are going to get waxed tomorrow, but let's be honest. People have been complaining about Jagr, Briere, and JVR for weeks now. Apparently this team is only the players that work hard now so theoretically they should win right? |

Clarkson was throwing his body around, no doubt.
I loved that he got to watch Read score the first goal, standing by helplessly as Foster and Volchenko were screwing around with the puck.
The fight with Boulton was close imo. Boulton won but it wasn't by much.
And the rest of the time he was on the ice Shelley was OK. Made some hits, played decent D.
Even got two shots on the PP.

C'mon man, give it a rest. Those plays don't effect the final score anyways. As Marc said, he didn't hurt the team and was fine |

Absolutely. Using injuries as an excuse is weak sauce. |

I believe I saw him on the ice for the one Devils goal. I could be wrong though. |

I'd love to see Jason Akeson get a shot with Giroux.
Doubt it will happen, but that kid can fly. |

Shelley wasn't bad, he will have to play tomorrow. I'd rather not see him on the PP. |

Giroux is tied for second in league scoring with his 2 assists today. That's pretty amazing to me considering he's been slumping. I don't want to speak too soon because Malkin is leading the league with 55 points and has been extremely hot as of late. Plus the Sedin twins are playing as we speak. |

Yes, the perfect deflection from the middle of the ice past Bryz. I'm sure somehow that goal was Shelley's fault. I certainly don't want to see Shelley when everyone's healthy, and we don't anymore, but not everyone is healthy. |

I'm not going to be looking at it as the Flyers don't have a chance. Play a team game and see what happens.

But the goal couldn't have been Briere's fault. It was obviously Shelley's. Briere plays too good in his own zone for him to have the potential to have anything to do with it. |

Sestito can play further up then just the 4th line, so we'll see how things shake up. I wouldn't be against moving Read out with Giroux, Read looked great there the last time Jagr was hurt. At the same time Read has been fantastic next to Couturier and Simmonds. Maybe we can spot Read or try Voracek with Giroux.
EDIT
Voracek makes the most sense to play with Giroux. |

The going price for 20 goal scoring wingers seems to be set at a 4th round pick and minor league defenseman. I expect Holmgren to land one before the game tomorrow. |

What it was Shelley out there 1 against 5? Or were there other Flyers also on the ice? Shelley was on the other side of the ice covering his point. So many good things happened in that game. So many positive things. It's a shame that Shelley has to be part of the conversation again.

Somebody's Shelley bashing tolerance has entered 'surface tension' levels. Fight the good fight, sir, and good luck.

I'm ever optimistic, but tomorrow has slaughter written all over it. That said the Flyers have typically been great the past few years when their backs are against the wall. |
