I was talking about who out of Sestito, Holmstrom, or HarryZ that will have to play on one of the top lines. - MJL
Hartnell-Giroux-Voracek
Read-Couturier-Simmonds
Talbot-Schenn-Harry Z
Shelley-Holmstrom-Sesito (hopefully for only 5-7 minutes) |

I see. Harry Z seems like the obvious choice to me. Who would you play with G and Hartsy? - coffee junkie
I don't know. Tough call. Maybe rotate and see who looks the best.

Crazy stuff in the SJ VAN game. 3 goals in about a minute and a half. - Duran76
I've been watching the whole thing. Couture has been beastly. Hodgson keeping his name alive for the Calder. |

I doubt they are taking a bus. It's like 5.5 hours from Upstate NY to Philly with good weather, with snow and icy roads who knows how long it would take. - PLindbergh31

I wouldn't mess with the Read, Couturier, Simmonds line. Kid played 18 minutes today.

I don't see either as a replacement for Carle. If Carle goes, I hope the Flyers do something else. - MJL
ok I don't think this year we are serious contenders, and I think most of us agree on that part. But we have a bunch of young guys outperforming their contracts right now, and Roo, Couts, Read will all very likely get significant jumps after the next 2 seasons. Thats around when we can either expect the old guard: Kimmo, Hartnell, Briere to be either gone or probably be past their prime. So the question is whether they want to make a cup run in the next couple of years which seems to be the window with this group. If they do, they need to free up salary and get some physicality to their team game. I see their biggest weakness being against teams who play a tight checking game and who forecheck (aka Bruins, Rangers) rather than high skill teams like Chicago or Vancouver. And that means we need to get bigger and nastier on D, and rely on forwards like Voracek to carry the puck up (something that Carle is probably the best at amongst our current D). |

Ben Holmstrom and Tom Sestito scratched here tonight. And the worst kept secret ends. - bigmookalookie
At least our 4th line center will be a 4th line center. Keep in mind though, Harry Z could have filled that role as well. |

Puck movement is the most important thing in today's game. It would be a mistake to go away from that, and lean too much on the physical stay at home types. It's a passing, skating game today. And passing the puck is much quicker then skating it. If you can get puck movers who also have a physical edge to their game, then that's great.

I see where your going with this and Id like to see the Flyers get Gleason but not at the cost of a Roster player. Gleason is young and a solid nasty guy on the blue line. In the offseason you never know tho, once the playoffs start anyone can win |

I bet he challenges Chara tomorrow. He's big enough, and tough enough to hold his own. I liked what I saw of Sestito when he was playing in December. His play certainly didn't warrant him being sent down at the time. |

I remember at the 7:20 mark of the 3rd when Kovey got the puck over the glass penalty Briere was face down beside Brodeur and he was hurt.
I had the Devils feed which is atrocious and they didn't show a replay or mention it, not sure what happened there is.
Let's hope he's back healthy after the ASG |

All I know is the Bruins called a team meeting for 9pm tonight.
The meeting is strictly about the Shelley/Holmstrom/Sestito line and how will they shut them down. I assume Chara will be in the ice against them every shift, only way to counter it. |
