They usually play the remaining time with the goalies in their 2nd period nets. Then switch ends and start the 3rd.

They will play it out at the start of the third. Then they'll blow the whistle and start the "third" period.

Agreed that Shelley can't catch a break around here. However, in that situation, with the momentum swinging wit the Flyers, I think it was a poorly timed fight. Shelley has been playing well this game and has held his own; just didn't see the logic behind a staged-fight at that point of the game.

I admit I was in that camp after his terrible start to the season. I couldn't have been more wrong. Ever since they screwed his feet on right, he has been on fire.

Am I reading too much into this game to say that this game proves the Flyers have enough organizational offensive depth to move a key offensive player to improve the defense?

The game is about meeting challenges. Nothing wrong with the fight there. By the way, what happened after the fight? How come were not hearing that it sparked the team? Instead, criticism.

Just for the record, I don't think the fight had anything to do with anything in that period.
