but why does that ALWAYS happen? the flyers have the worst SO record in the league all-time. - hammarby31
No idea. I don't really care that much either. Its a skills competition. And unless your a certain beat writer, it means nothing in the playoffs. I care more about what they did in the 65 minutes before that, and it was a fantastic effort while very short handed. That type of play will get this team a lot of wins. |

Rubber match in May. See you there. - Cape Breton Bruins
In your head. As generally an outsider looking in on the Flyers.
What would you say is the biggest issue with the current team? |

They just got (frank)ed out of a point, because they have a goalie that has the confidence of a 16 teen year old kid going to his first dance. - Scottie Upshall

Not the goalie.
Bryz was average at best today. - ggunky
I disagree. He let in one goal that was questionable today. He made a good number of quality saves. Saves that were game savers at the time. Saves that kept them in the game.

the flyers played them physically today and dominated for good stretches of the game, without 4 key players. i believe they can beat boston if they play the way they did today. - hammarby31
Like i said, you beat a bully by playing fire with fire. Bruins love to dish it out, but they're pretty sensitive bunch.
I missed a large portion of the game, but imo the Flyers played better in what i did watch, especially in the OT before the penalty. |

The penalty kill at the end of the game was phenomenal.

If the upper management thinks the way you do, the Flyers won't win a cup for the next 8 years. LOL - Scottie Upshall

He has let in a weak goal game after game.
I expect more then a Boucher effort.
He is paid as a top goalie and I expect more.
The Flyers could have kept boosh and used the extra 4 mil on another d-man.
Come on, Bryz can allow a weak or soft goal per game.

Getting back to the shootout. I blame the coach. We had a guy totally dominate Thomas today, and your choices beside your best player are simmonds and read, WTF. |

What weak goal did he let in against NJ? Bryzgalov made a number of quality saves in the game. Like I said one goal, where he didn't get all the way against the post.

The islanders played the glass goalie all game against us then benched him after OT and played Poulin for the SO. . . . is Bob good in SO? |

Struggling. Its a long season. Someone brought up today how great of a season Mike Smith is having in PHX. System helps I suppose. He's still a good goalie and you guys are missing key pieces. - Cape Breton Bruins

Well Read is a very talented player. Simmonds, well that's a tough one. I'm sure they practice it and some of the decisions are based on how they do in practice. |

Ill take solace in their compete level today. They initiated the physical play, they forced the tempo and kept coming at the bruins. The refs were awful, both ways, and the Flyers didnt capitalize on the 2 late PPs. Say what you will against Bryz, but I can only fault him for the last goal. He was late in realizing the play went the other way and couldnt get his stick down quick enough. Regardless, Cambell's stick was parked in the crease, 6 inches off the goal line, tough save to make either way.
One thing I would like to see Reese work with him on: Spreading his feet wider when he's on his knees. Many of these deflections are finding the smallest amount of space to get by him. If his feet are wider, he takes away that space. |

At this point I say (frank) practice. Go with the guy that just got a natural hat trick, and perhaps Voracek who can actually skate with the puck on his stick, GEEZU I've seen enough of Simmonds on the shootout. |

Brayden Schenn was very Mike Richards like today. Great move by Homer. Richards lost his edge so he traded for a younger better one. |

Only thing is as his feet are wider, so is the 5 hole. But I agree totally with the first paragraph.
