I dont want Suter in a bidding war. If we can get his rights and sign him to a cap hit of like 5.5 mill, then yes, but if we are talking a 6 plus anual cap hit, no thank you... - RooNosHockey
will be shocked if he signs anywhere for less than 6.5 |

He seems much more focused. Even in interviews he makes more sense. And he seemed a natural for the A yesterday. In past years I would not have said that. - bodiva88

doesn't bode well for a carle return. gogo was set to become an RFA and he's on pace for 28 points and gets 4.6. carle obviously will be ufa and on pace for second-straight 40-point season. - OrangeBlack27

He's been great in all aspects this year. He plays hard every shift as well. |

agreed. you comfortable with gus and mab as your 5 and 6 going forward? - OrangeBlack27
Lavy seems pretty confident in him. He was on the ice in OT yesterday. |

Bryz was solid yesterday. Enough said. He kept them in the game in the first period. - KGBflyers10
I'm not throwing him under the bus for yesterday, but he has to be better for us to compete with the big dogs in the conf. I still see the same issues that were eating him alive before he played two good games in a row. Lateral movement and stick flailing about not covering the five hole. Also, I think it was on the fifth goal, he should have come over paddle down to cover the post. Instead, his stick is weakly flailing in front of him. I'd say 3 of those goals were acceptable. The shootout was just weak though. Work in progress. I would not be opposed to him starting tomorrow night either. Then a week away from the game to refresh the mind.. I expect him to improve. |

Going to have to be. Suter, Timonen, Meszy, and Coburn would be a pretty solid top 4. |

There is a lot of room to work a contract down for someone that is 26. Give him a 10 year deal that makes the cap hit 5.5, then give him bonuses and a NTC, not a NMC.

Goligoski is usually a 40-50 point guy. $4.6M sounds about right. Is Carle better than Goligoski? |

My thoughts precisely. It'll be a tricky task, assembling this defensive corps. |

I think they are comparable players. Obviously I don't see Goligoski as much as I see Carle, so Carle's weaknesses would be more apparent to me. |

What we really should do is trade one of our current young offensive players for a young d-man of equal value... Get like a L.Schenn, or Ellis, or Blum... Maybe Subban...
Then use our draft picks to take a bunch of D-man in the next draft. And sign a mid-teir guy for the time being. Maybe offer Carle a 1 year 4.5 mill deal. |

I think we have to resign Carle as long as it's not for 6 mil a year. With Pronger most likely LTIR'ed and the cap going up (as some people think) then we should have room. Maybe the plan is to let him walk, draft a young dman and sign Suter though. After the creativity shown last summer by Homer, I think he'll find a way to sort the D out. I just worry about Timonen wearing out later this year. |

not a bad plan, but I don't see any way of getting Carle to come back on a 1 yr deal. He's gonna want term and money. |

I am sure folks in Boston are calling for Tuukka Rask to take over today in light of yesterday's performance by Tim Thomas.
Or not. Because Boston fans are more even-tempered and sensible than our own. |

I cant see why carle would command more then Coburn, so if he accepts a deal less then 5 million, I'm ok signing him to a 3-4 year deal. If not, I would trade his rights in the offseason. |

19 Flyer wins in the shootout. I wonder who has most of them? Esche, Biron, Nitty? |

got your point, but all sports fans--especially on the east coast--are monumentally stupid and shortsighted. |

If Thomas' save % was .895 and gaa were 3+, I'm sure a good amount of them would be calling for Rask. |
