So you would have used a team event congratulating you and your teammates to voice your opinions? How does that go - "hello Mr. president - hate your policies - smile for the camera"? Sounds like the appropriate time and place.
They may deserve to hear what people think but they don't listen or act on it anyway. - ukeman
Yup. I am sure they get to meet and greet for a few minutes after the photo op. If I am a citizen and have his ear, no reason not to state your case. How many opportunities like that does a citizen get? |

Then Gleason will be in Carolina, cause no team is giving that up. - stveshdy
Be careful with such an absolute statement. Glen Sather is reportedly in on Gleason...don't underestimate his ability to overpay.
Just remember, the Rags owner has called his team close to a SC. Sather needs to come through.... |

Possible. I just think if you get invited to meet the President, you go out of respect for the office, and since it was a team function, you go to support your teammates. - Jsaquella
I agree. I'm the farthest thing from an Obama supporter but I would accept the invite and be honored to meet him. |

I understand what Carolina wants but that dont mean they're getting it. If I have to offer two 1st rounders ill start my phone call with Nashville. Gleason is not even close to being on that level. |

That is him. He is in front of the Detroit Red Wings goalie draft pick. |

I hope the Rags overpay like usual. Leave them with nothing for the future

There are some pretty big markets looking for solid D men for the playoffs this year.
In the last few days, I've seen the following teams interested in D men
NYR
Phili
Vancouver
BlackHawks
Caps
Possibly more...these were just off the top of my head. There will be bidding wars going on in the next few weeks. I think that we'll see a lot of silliness around the corner.

A Shawinigan player ran the Gatineau goalie and then it was all out from there. |

She had a good time. Made it through 2 periods and slept through the 3rd. 1pm is her nap time so the game did interfere with her schedule. She sat on my lap and watched almost the entire Bruins game with me yesterday (we watched on DVR and FF thru a lot of stuff), that was just as much fun as the Devs game b/c she was yelling and screaming at the TV. |

Your 100% right. I just wouldnt be one of those teams bidding on Gleason for that ridiculous price. Their are other defenseman who can be had for less imo. |

Good to hear.
My daughter is almost 2, I think I'll wait another year to take her to her first game though. |

If i was homer I would do a deal for suter or weber for a couple forwards (ie jvr, read) and picks and then i would trade carle for a couple forwards or picks to another team =)

What was the worst Stanley Cup match up in recent years. I'm going to go with 2002. |

It was definitely a gamble. We brought ear protection for her b/c the arenas are ridiculously loud. That helped her fall asleep, even when the Devils scored. |

In terms of quality of play - or just strictly the teams matched up? |
