he looks more comfy at wing for now and the D responsibility is something he'll improve upon. would still move him for the right young dman, but I felt that way in Sept so it's nothing against him as a plyr. - isaiah520
If they (Coots & Schenn) both develop properly, can we really go forward with one of them having to center the 3rd line? Seems like we're back with the dilemma of 3 very good centers fighting for time. So it'd be interesting if Schenn could develop just as well on the wing, even tho he's an asset at center since he's so polished in faceoffs |

It was difficult being forced to include Eminger in that trade - SeaIslelandLush
Huh?
EDIT:
Nvm.. the Carle trade, I was talking about the Goligoski deal. |

Oh whoops. Thought you meant that Carle will have bargaining power cause of what the Flyers gave up to trade for him. My bad. Therefore u suggesting Carle could possibly come in lower than Gogo's deal? Possible....if u could match his deal with Coburn's, id prob be a happy camper |

Thats what I see them trying to do if they do have interest in resigning him.
i think when you give up an allstar power forward and a d-man that can play top four minutes (both have more points than him).. it puts a little more pressure on the team. If you dont resign him, look at what you gave away, but in order to sign him, he has the upper hand in the negotiations.. |

Loving the season so far watching the kids grow but im also giddy for the offseason. Hopefully drafting a high rated Dmen with such a deep draft and seeing what happens with Carle if hes still unsigned. And you know Homer will be going hard for Suter. Whether he overpays or not, he usually gets what he wants. |

Let's hope that if Bryzgalov is in net, that he continues to show signs of improvement, and getting to where he needs to be. - MJL
the joe conklin "let me be" beatles parody of bryzgalov on wip this morning has me wanting to lock the entire philly media in a trunk and pushing it off the walt whitman bridge. it's pure torture being surrounded by asshats 24/7. |

I cant help but think that the fact they gave up sooo much for him has to play into it a bit.. gives him a little extra bargaining juice on his side. - jak521
That is exactly my line of thought as well. They can't let a guy walk that they gave up so much for. |

He does a terrible impression of 90% of the people he thinks he can do. Bryz is Borat somehow. Guys a (frank)ing clown. |

If Hartnell is finally chosen, considering how the last couple of years have gone, it's a great comeback redemption story.
I do hope Bryz is in net tonight...you can see him finally coming into his own. Pluck the shootout crap.
Schenn is playing well and i hope he keeps it up. I'm liking the trades more and more as the year goes on.
ASF posted an article in the Delco Times about Hartnell. http://www.delcotimes.com/sports/ - phi1671
Last year he was right in line with career averages statistics wise. Can you plz explain what was wrong with him last year? I know 2010 was a bad year for him but he did have a good playoff run that year too. |

for the time being, they need him at wing and if the BOS gm was any indication, he had a comfort level we hadn't seen up to this point. |

Hey Bill, I wanna talk about the lines when everyone's healthy again, considering recent play.
I'd like to see Voracek and Schenn flank Briere. As long as Schenn keeps up the play as he did in Boston, he is a 2nd line winger. That Coots, Read, Simmonds line was a thing of beauty. Keep em intact for your 3rd line.... That leaves line 4. Welcome to your new PERMANENT home JvR! Make him play that line with Talbot and Rinaldo/Z/Shelley until he gets a fire under his butt and becomes a man or he gets traded. My lines (tell me what you think):
Hartnell-Giroux-Jagr
Schenn-Briere-Voracek
Read-Scooter-Simmonds
JvR-Talbot-Rinaldo
That's a Stanley Cup lineup if you ask me! |

As I recall, 2010 wasn't a great regular season for a number of guys. The entire team forgot how to play, let alone score, for a good long while. |

Exactly. I was pissed the day I heard that trade go down.. and said many times that Dallas VASTLY overpaid. If you are giving up James Neal, who only put up 24 goals his rookie season, followed that up with 27 goals his sophomore season, and was on pace for 33 goals (before being traded) in his third season... and you are including a former first round pick 2 way d-man who had posted 61 points in his first 2 seasons... you better be getting a poop ton more than an oft injured slightly above average offensive d-man. |

It's not all on the goalie as we all know but Bryz has to be better, He would tell you that, Jeff Reese would tell you that and Lava would tell you that.

I hope the Flyers put on a much better show for the Dads than the Wild did in Philly last week.
I'd be thrilled with a solid defensive effort and a big win for Bryz if he starts.
I like Bryz and want him to succeed but he has to be better and why not start tonight, go into the break on a positive. |

Here is the pitch I make on Hartnell's behalf to all of his detractors. I was never one to want him out.. although there were times where it got close to me wanting that..
I look at the past 4 seasons and ask what our best (or most productive line was).. and then I ask to name the players on that line.
08-09: Hartnell-Carter-Lupul
09-10:is tough.. because the lines changed so frequently.. but then came the playoffs and Hartnell-Briere-Leino were the main reason we were able to go so far.
10-11: Hartnell-Briere-Leino.. that line had the most combined points.
11-12: Hartnell-G-Jags...
Who is the one main constant on each line? |

I think 10 games is a good measuring stick, but I had used this month. He is 4-2-2 with a .907 save% and 2.85 gaa. Over the month thats not bad..
Heres the thing that really sticks out to me this season.. He has either been really good or really bad. There is rarely a game where his stats show that he is meh. Its like a save % of .953 or .867
He needs to be more consistent

the fact that you chose not to use the precise # of gms that would skew the stats to make him look better shows what a negative bryz hater you are!
