i get what you're saying, but i'm confused by your language. just because someone may be christian, doesn't mean they're against judaism, and therefore wouldn't go into a synagogue. could be muslim, or hindi...whatever. i think the religious example isn't a good one. - hammarby31
that's where I was having a problem too |

I disagree. It has always been a dirty, nasty game.

Not to say there hasn't been vitriol before, but we're quite removed from the days when you'd see members of the two parties enjoy a drink in the same room at the end of the day. So to speak, there are no adversaries that are not also enemies. |

Sorry, that's what it sounded like to me and archion seemed to be supporting your view. - Dkos
I was just trying to use religion as an example.. but failed.

Hell, even within the same party, this is the case. |

There's a game tonight right? Has a Goalie been announced? I assume it's Bryzgalov? - MJL
Of course somebody of your political stature would assume Bryzgalov is starting!

For sure, unfortunate. I often wonder to what end this polarization will lead? Perhaps it's best to leave it on that note, though. I think we see quite eye to eye on the matter |

I have to say that everyone has been quite respectful today in discussing this topic. Very nice to see that alternate discussions can occur from time to time around here without turning into a fist fight.
The mods should be proud. Wherever they are. |

I love the offensive streak Couturier went on lately, encouraging sign of things to come methinks. Not that we're lacking in offensive firepower this season, anyways. Even our current injury situation couldn't stop the Flyers from scoring five on Thomas. |

Its crazy to think we are without Jagr, JvR, Briere, Pronger, and Rinaldo.. yet still should have beaten the B's.

A little strange that Logan Couture is going to the All-Star Game and not Dan Boyle who's numbers seem worthy (In terms of Sharks reps). I'm not understand why Letang was named. Chara is worthy. I'm going to miss seeing the same slap shot battle I saw last year between Chara and Weber. That was the only real interesting part. |

Then I'd be ready for another year of Flyers playoff hockey.
EDIT: There is supposed to be a quote above this, but it's not there. Oh well. |

I hope it's him. I'd like to see the Flyers head into the break with a strong win. I'm hoping they are still juiced up after losing Sunday instead of mentally checked out in sunny florida. |

Not according to TT. He said his decision was not based on any party in particular. It was a protest of the state of the government in general. According to TT, this is not a Rebulican/Democrat issue. He's not protesting Obama or the democrats. That's all I was saying when I posted his quote. I just didn't get his reasoning. I could understand his not going more if he had said, "I hate Obama and all he stands for and therefore I will not go".
Furthermore, how would going to a Synagogue be a denouncement of someone's Christian beliefs? - Dkos
Youre right regarding TT's statement. His protest is not alligned with party dogma. TT doesnt not believe in big government. He thinks the gov't is infringing on the citizens civil liberties under the guise of protection ie survalience cameras, intercepting of phone conversations, emails etc.) Alot of this is accomplised via the Patriot ACT and, more so, it's second incarnation. The irony is that is was the Bush Administration (Congress) that passed the act.
I'm not stating my beliefs, just shedding light on the subject. I dont have a problem with him not going. He saw this as a venue to voice his opinion and did so. It may not have been under the correct context but he saw it as an opportunity and has the right to do so. |
