Agreed. I don't think Bryz lost them the game. I think Bryz could have won them the game if he comes up with 1 more clutch save in regulation, but I think Sunday was just an emotional game where the flyers were missing 3 top forwards and almost won. - funmaster18
if he stops that lucic shot, maybe the game turns out very different. some feel it was a perfect bullet, while others including myself feel it was stoppable. the campbell goal looked ugly but i think that was a tougher stop going back from right to left and trying to track the puck from behind. cambell got position on gusty and banged it in. i think it was stoppable, but again it looks worse because the bruins had just tied the game on yet another deflection. you could argue he was better than thomas. forget the shootout.
Hot and Cold is relative... Most NHL'ers would love to have or settle for Giroux "cold". With all his skill and playing on the top line with talent around him... and, with someone with this many total pts... He has struggled to score goals as of late. It is 1/23 and his last goal was 1/2. Earlier in the season he was chipping in a few goals as well as helpers. - leon neon
It isn't like Giroux can't buy a goal. He prefers to pass the puck. He should be shooting more, but he isn't and he hasn't. It's bad decision making on his part not to shoot, so maybe we're talking about a shooting slump because there is no doubt he'd score if he took those shots.

And to think folks wanted to literally jettison him asap early this season, oh how theywerewrong. - BulliesPhan87
i read the comments on philly.com about bryz yesterday, and it's just brutal. embarrassing fans actually saying the most short-sighted, uninformed, stupid poop ever.

Rhea Hughes was ripping him for not stopping any of the 5 shots he faced this year. It's understandable to be frustrated that he hasn't stopped one, but they made it sound like he is 0-20, not to mention the Flyers have probably had more shootouts than Flyers games watched by Rhea.

On which of the 5 assists from this weekend would he have made a better choice by shooting?

Prior to the weekend he had 2 points and was a -9 in his previous 7 games..

I think 10 games is a good measuring stick, but I had used this month. He is 4-2-2 with a .907 save% and 2.85 gaa. Over the month thats not bad..
Heres the thing that really sticks out to me this season.. He has either been really good or really bad. There is rarely a game where his stats show that he is meh. Its like a save % of .953 or .867
He needs to be more consistent - jak521
well this months numbers are an upgrade so it's a start

If they (Coots & Schenn) both develop properly, can we really go forward with one of them having to center the 3rd line? Seems like we're back with the dilemma of 3 very good centers fighting for time. So it'd be interesting if Schenn could develop just as well on the wing, even tho he's an asset at center since he's so polished in faceoffs - SeaIslelandLush
I don't look at lines, I look at roles. Between PP and PK time, your top 3 centers are going to get their minutes. I want Couturier to be the primary shutdown guy for this team until he retires. Call it the "3rd" line if you wish, but to me those designations have and always will be just names.

You'd think he might mix in a save every once in a while.
In the shoot out the Flyers need to go 3 for 3 and hope an opponent hits a post
The damn shoot out is a real bastard for the Flyers
