Nobody talks about Stasney anymore. I bet he's more available that getz.

and by the way, clarksyduster, are you ug reincarned

- gojets

He is over rated IMO, with a hefty contract. Not what the Leafs need. They need a guy who can play with size.

He has put up Grabovski type numbers the last two seasons.

Yes playoffs are out of reach for the Habs - but catching the Leafs is not out of the question with a couple more head to heads

I believe the Leafs play more Road games than Home games til the end of the season - will be tough

- MTL1

The Habs are 8-9-7 at home, whereas the Leafs are 10-11-1 on the road.
Almost identical records, unless the two teams go to OT at the Bell Centre.
Even then, the Habs are only gaining a point. Won't be enough to catch the streaky Leafs.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and take that to be a joke. Good one.

I meant fine without Carter. My bad, wasn't paying much attention while I typed that.

30 pts compared to Connolly's 24.

And Paul has played a lot more games.

that does sound sort of familiar.

Looked it up, I was close.

Toronto gets Nashville's 2013 4th if Lombardi plays more than 60 games over two seasons, and the other way around if he plays less.

Yup. Agreed.

Stastny isnt really even better than Bozak this year, points wise. Bozak might even be a better PPG pace.

Soooo glad we didnt trade for Stastny.

I'd rather them upgrade some wingers for Grabo, than bring in Carter at this point. I'd like to see Grabo stay, he's fairly consistent and seems to be able to produce with a wide range of players, an ideal 2nd line centre IMO. Trade anyone except kessel, lupul, grabo, kadri for a #1 centre and I'm happy.

Why keep Kadri?
I never have, and still don't, understand what makes him seem so "untouchable".

Stasney is very similar to a kreiji, and it works for Boston. Our size needs to come from the wing. And come on, Stasney is much better than Bozie, and I like Bozie

Stasny has a lot more upside. He has his best years coming soon. Not saying we trade for him but, I believe he has better potential than Grabo or Connolly. IMO

I dont really think that Burke really wanted Kadri

I think it was more a pick to keep him away from Bryan Murray of the Sens

If you watch the draft - they showed a conversation where Bryan Murray was telling Burke that he wanted Kadri at 7 - I think Burke was trying to work out a trade with Murray to flip picks and for the Leafs to get something else but Murray didn't bite and Burke ended up with Kadri

I was hoping that when it was announced that Cammy was traded - that it was to COL for Statsny

If you look at the COL lineup - Statsny doesnt have much to work with to put pucks in the net and they are in 8th place in the conference

I dont disagree there. IMO, Stastny should be and is the best player of the names you mentioned. The problem is, its been a season and a half since he has really been much better than either points wise, but also comes with a much bigger price tag that could hurt the teams ability to have depth.

I'm not sure he is available and if he's Toronto bound. He'll get a long term deal and be Minnesota bound, IMO.

Regardless, I agree that some guys can be dealt-- Mac comes to mind as Kadri is a replacement for the 2nd line wing atm.

Beyond that, not sure what's moveable that isn't young or core.

- Brian Huddle

I think Minni has the upper hand on him, but it will come down to dollars it sounds like, and Leafs with Burke and Wilson may have a shot at signing him. Much more realistic than Richards was.

Listen to offers and see who over pays for who. I would like to see them keep their prospects for once and the young stars. Kessel, Kadri, Lupul, Phaneuf, Gardiner, Colborne, Franson, Frattin and maybe Gunner. Everyone else I'm listening.
