Is it just me, or have the leafs been playing REALLY boring hockey? - Timeforsoup
It's because they haven't been scoring much because they've been crappy in general |

Look really unspirited, they have to pick up the pace if they want to come away with the win. |

ok let's play here with Ek's new rumour
This is made to get us talking so let's have some fun...
Tavares, Moulson are both Toronto boys and Bailey is a key prospective talent as well.
Charles Wang is losing money and not a happy man. We know they were looking at Dipetro to retire for medical reasons to get out from under his contract. We know that insurance companies are not always quick to settle at full pop and would be looking for a deal, so that might not happen. Toronto has money and makes money from hockey unlike the majority of the league. We can bury salary. LTIR does not count against our cap. So what would they be willing to part with for the money? They have already screwed their fan base for some time. Who knows???

the rumour is out of New York

Imagine this:
To Leafs: Rolson, Dipetro, Tavares, Nabakov
To Islanders: Grabo, Kuli, Kadri or Colborne, Gardiner, Schenn and either Reimer or Scrivens
Snow likes young talent, and this would be something he would look for in return.
Not sure I would like to give up that much for Tavares, but it would make things semi-possible.
I am only playing here and asking everyone to add thoughts. This is against my whole philosophy on how the Leafs should proceed this season, but it's Tavares. |

It is intriguing, though, isn't it?
The idea of "buying" talent has been something I think the Leafs should be pursuing more often. The Lombardi trade worked out great for us. |

We have money that most teams don't have. We are equal because of the cap, but we are not equal as far as revenue. Only the top tier of the league actually make money from the teams they own. We can afford to bury money, that most teams can't carry. |

Why so negative??? If you were losing millions and were fighting with the city you were in, and had to cough up cash for a new building. What would you do?
If you could pay your rent and buy groceries would you sell you Orr rookie card??? (answer) Of course you would. |

the big issue is the islanders arent in a position to save money
they are at the cap floor.. dipietro is interesting though..tho the leafs would have to send back equal contract value
what would they pay to get out of having to pay that contract? interesting. |

So, could somebody tell me why our superstar is having to fight?
Doesn't Tie Domi have a son who plays hockey or something? |

When they write the obituary for this season, they'll point to the last 5 games.
This was the TSN turning point on our season. |

Just like I predicted let down game tonight, Love how Kadri just glided down the ice on the 2nd goal. Really good effort, NOT.
Amazing that they sent Frattin down to keep Kadri up. |

That was all Gunnarsson.
If you're going to pinch to keep the puck in, you better make a stronger play along the boards than whatever half-assed sissy crap that was. |

It wasn't all Gunnarson, Kadri watched the puck go past him along the boards. |

He was the last man back and blew it.
He pinched. Was it the right play? Maybe if he had made a better play on the puck.
But rather than get up close to the boards and make a strong play, he weakly flailed his stick at it and turned it over easily. |
