Really? Steady improvement was 29th to 22nd last year. Thsi year supposedly upgraded in a whole bunch of areas and no one can convince me we won't be 22nd or lower with this lineup again.

this is a waste of time til we see how it plays out

Doesn't make up the 6 points he lost us being brutal in his own end and on the PK while he got his "game" back.

we're currently 17th. unless ur crystal ball is telling u that were gonna finish 22nd, maybe we should let the rest of the season play out first

Whoa whoa whoa, What crack head Leaf fans have you been hanging out with that they said we upgraded in a whole bunch of areas? Season isn't over and we are still in the playoff hunt, Leafs may end up in 22nd again but that may not be because of there effort when usually the western conference teams dominate the points and this year will probably be no different considering that 4 teams from the central division right now look like they will be in the playoffs and possibly be all over 100 points which means teams in the west with 90+ points probably won't make the playoffs and will fill up the spots from 17-20th.

Amazing that the leafs have no penalties in 5 periods lol. Refs noses are so far up Burke's butt it is laughable. Even when you guys are getting handed a game, you are failing lol. Pathetic.
- the ceez

What's pathetic is the talent that is wasted by having a team on long island.... it's where careers go to die my friend......now that's pathetic

i am sure if this season is another failure it will be all on lombardi

i dont agree with you on lombardi at all, to me we wont know what we have with him for another 20 games or so... lets just leave it at that.

Correct but I'll never back off that Burke had it right last year. Sure he got Franson. I like him somewhat but the expense was Lombardi at 3.5 and taking away ice from first Kadri and now Frattin. Ice that would be valuable 2-3 years from now. Connolly half assing it out there making no one better. Steckel. (frank).

It's a process....Oilers have drafted first several years in a row and they are still a bad team. Does that mean adding Hall and RNH didn't help the Oilers, because they haven't improved in the standings? Does that indicate they are okay with being last? Or does it mean that a rebuilding team will require many, many transactions over a longer period of time to see results?

It's still flawed logic to think that the results in the standings have anything to do with whether or not you win a trade.

There are so many variables in play during the course of a season (injuries, suspensions, natural regression/improvement in all players, other trades and signings) that it's impossible to tell whether or not one individual trade was responsible for a fall or rise in the standings.

Franson and Lombardi >>>> Lebda. That is known, regardless of where the Leafs sit in the Eastern Conference.

Whos to say Lombardi won't be traded, I mean hes a center playing Wing right now and usually at the trade deadline teams want depth down the middle and Lombardi could be that guy, Maybe thats the reason hes been playing on the 1st line until last night.

I know Chicago is looking for a center for sure and they were at Saturdays game.

Correct but with what was deemed as upgrades should make this a no brainer. So I'll say it again. Has the Lombardi deal been beneficial? Until proven otherwise.....Nope!

Lombardi was just a thrown in, The real trade was Lebda for Franson.

Still missing what you said as the point. Nothing to do with winning a trade. Has it been beneficial like you indicated?

he is uninsurable.. the leafs can afford to take the risk.. and i'd be shocked to see another team take that risk on without the leafs paying a premium in the deal
