The Hawks really need a 2nd line center though, They had Kane playing there for most the season but they've moved him back to the wing so for most of the season they've had a rookie playing as the 2nd line center.

Correct but with what was deemed as upgrades should make this a no brainer. So I'll say it again. Has the Lombardi deal been beneficial? Until proven otherwise.....Nope!

i dont think franson or lombardi were considered upgrades tho

lombardi was a huge question mark to even play, so much so that another pick is riding on him not playing any games.. (looks like toronto may end up paying that actually)

franson was no "key to the playoffs" either.. he was young pick up they could develop into their system.. so leafs brass werent viewing him as a crucial part to reaching the post season.

so since neither guy was actually expected to make an impact on the upcoming season, you cannot guage the trade as a success or not based on the team's position in the standings

Could be worse and you could have to listen to the biased islanders announcers with the biased stat guys in the truck. Islanders had 11 blocked shots in the first 5 minutes of the first period according to them.

As a color commentator, he knows his stuff and gets the job done. A little annoying, but not terrible.
