Agreed, he should have been called to be honest. But come on every team has games that they get away with stuff but the crap that went ignored or ''unnoticed'' in this game agianst the Leafs was pathetic. A game where the leafs should have had at least 5 legit calls and nothing is called!! Thats what is hard to take. So we get away with one or two and the Leafs go free the entire game, any average hockey fan would know that is not right...the last play of the game Moulson was hauled down and on that turn over the Leafs scored...REALLY!!!! come on man this happens to your team you feel the same way. Let the players decide the game not the refs.... Leafs win then I say good game to them....this is not how hockey should be officiated
- Nolanders

I'm pretty sure not calling penalties = letting the players decide the game.

The refs were letting everything go tonight. Your bias is just pointing out what he let go against the Isles. He also let a lot go against the Leafs and at one point in the 2nd period they weren't even calling icings.

If you want to complain about the refs then you might as well go to the Isles blog because you're not going to accomplish much here other than start unnecessary arguments.

If you want we can send honesthockey and jbold over to your blog and you can argue with them pointlessly for hours.

The game is for pansies now.. that is why Kessel and others can be molested all night.. and not one person stands up for him.. sad sad.. game..

That would've been a good hit not that long ago.. whereas Scott Stevens lived off of elbows to the head which were illegal even back in the day.

This new NHL is made for the fancied NHL teams that are USA based..

Hamonic should have been beaten to a blood spattered pulp, laying crumpled on the ice looking for missing chicklets.
If Gretzky got mauled like that, Semenko or McSorley's fist would have been 4 inches inside someones eye socket.

you were never allowed to leave your feet to to hit a guy

its one thing if the skates come off the ice after the contact, but not prior.

however i am not disagreeing that the game is losing its grit.. been a long process....ever since they established the instigator game misconduct this has been brewing.

i really have no idea what burke is gonna do there i dont even want to hazard a guess.. all i know is if gus heats up and plays stable til the end of the year i dont want to lose him as a free agent, but then we head back into next season with gus and reimer.. which in reality, are both young goalies with little experience by nhl standards

The officiating was horrible all evening.

To be honest, the OT non-call would have been marginal. If it was called, it would have fit right in with the Leafs' season so far. I can see you being p*ssed off. I would be also. I can also see that if that call is made in OT the Leafs fans would have a right to be p*ssed off also.

Although I agree with almost everything you say.. the FACT is it started before the instigator it started with Gary "The Tick" Bettman.. ever since he came into power the NHL has favoured US teams in hopes that it would mean a big tv deal.. and have sacrificed every other team in the process.

No, resign Gus AND a vet. I see Reimer getting moved at some point in the future.

Gus is a late bloomer he has the size needs to develop physical strength still.. for those long limbs.. people forget that he had heart issues for years this stunts blood to your growing organs and muscles.. it will take years to recover.. hopefully.. he is only getting better.. stronger.. and is positionally getting more mature.. remember that goalies can go much deeper than other players this is good..

Reimer too.. with a couple of adjustments will be back next year.. and then we will have the best tandem in the league...

they're leaning on traditional markets to try to open up new ones.. its not an unusual process for any business

gary bettman's job is to make the league money.. there will be tested markets that fail (pheonix) and he did secure the nbc deal which is going to help alot of franchises

do i think bettman is a tool.. 110% absolutely.. but his job is not to pander to established markets, its to grow the game into new ones.. and who mandates what his job is? the owners do.

reimer has to get back out to the edge of the crease... he's playing a little timid in his last couple of starts

Dozzer I can't believe you are saying that it is ok for Bettman to screw Toronto constantly as well as other |Canadian markets so that they can open the Nashville's of this league..

Sorry but we need a Euro division or Conference and then you would see major US networks fight for a deal.. Moscow vs New York or LA is much more interesting to people from Nashville than Nashville versus the Edmonton Oilers.

Totally agreed.. he is way too deep for a skinny fast guy.. but that's what happens when the league does not protect their goalies.. every little Midget/Gionta.. will run goalies.. and he got nothing for it.. it was by accident that he charged the goalie with no one punching.. and elbowed him straight in the head.. if Reimer was Crosby.. it would've been a 15 game suspension.

Given the appalling conditions of the KHL with its widespread corruption and disregard for player safety, I'd prefer that the NHL stay as far away from Russia as possible.
