Howard didn't look so great. The fourth goal, he got hit with a shot, big fat rebound into the slot, and he had zero idea where the puck was.

But the Red Wings are getting schooled all over the ice.

I think 4 cups since 97 appeases a lot of the fans.. I know I'd love it if the Flyers had their track record since then. cry..
- Hextall271

i'd really like to believe you and i have to think you're right, but i think if the Flyers won the Cup and then their goalie gave up four goals, you'd still get a lion's share of fans calling for his head. it's in the DNA now.

I agree, I'm not sold on it either. Although I think he's going to be a solid player as he develops. My other issue is that unless they're going to add someone else, I think they're going to lose a lot of puck movement and offense if they lose Carle, and Pronger doesn't come back.
- MJL

Yep. It remains to be seen if they can keep Carle or add Suter or whomever, regardless of what happens with adding a guy at the TDL.

I think once we get one deal, we will see a few happen. GM's seem to be feeling out the process, to see what the market will be set at.

I'd tend to agree with this then I saw a world series mvp get booed off the mound last spring.

I don;t think anyone is cool with JvR straight up for Schenn on this board
- Jsaquella

apparently some would. schenn would be a good second pairing guy for a dynamic puck mover, but the latter guy is who you would want for JVR.

I worry about the same thing. When you look at the names such as Pronger, Timonen, Carle, Mszaros and Coburn, everyone brings something to the table. If anyone goes, replace it!

Thats exactly what teams around the league do. Players leave and/or traded. Anyone can be replaced.

it's good to know the flyers almost always try. the eagles have never replaced Dawkins and trotter w/ anything but slop.

Nate Allen and Casey Matthews are not slop. Their young and upcoming players in the NFL, so the Eagles say.

Just one of those nights. Sometimes you have bad games. Its a long season and its almost impossible to be good every single night.

Edit: 6-0 now.

Allen needs to be paired w/ a smash mouth type to be effective.

I don't think just anyone can replace JvR. He's far from what he could be one day.

Im not going to change your mind on that. I think its alot easier to replace a forward. I heard the same thing when Richards and Carter were traded (how are they going to replace that scoring). You have guys like Read, Voracek, Couturier, etc. who step up.
