it was his second. 1-4 last year, 2-5 now for his career. Last year during the gimmick he seemed to stay way back in his crease. This year, especially on breakaways he's been much more aggressive and is forcing the shooter to go first.
By know means a shootout machine, but his improvement in the breakaway area bodes well in the future. At least that's ones hope. - hockeylover
He can thank the Flyers defense for that. He gets enough practice, ranging anywhere from 3-5 a night. In all seriousness though, Bob has really polished a lot of the rough areas in his game from last year. He still needs to keep consistent concentration to prevent that all kiling "weak" goal, but the rapid rate of improvement is more than encouraging.
New York has had serious injury issues. Remember they were missing Staal from the beginning of the season to the WC. Anisimov missed some time early. Sauer has been out since 12/6 and still shows no signs of recovery. Eminger may have been a bust here, but was a contributor there and has been out since Dec 18. And there have been others through the year. Boyle is playing on two bad ankles (and rolled his ankle early yesterday but came back later). There were points where they were very thin and very young on D.
Boston appears to be charmed. I can't remember any serious injuries this year. It's not like they didn't suspect they'd be without Savard.
You know, I read that Savard would be glad to learn he'd never play again and wondered why he wouldn't just choose not to if that's the way he feels? - bodiva88
I was thinking the same thing Bo. The Rags haven't exactly been "healthy" all year, but let's be honest... the players they have lost are not even comparable outside of Staal. Staal, Sauer, Boyle, Eminger, Anisimov vs. Pronger, Briere, Giroux, Jagr, JVR, Couts, Read, Schenn, Gusty and Timmo was playing with a messed up hand. Now if we were talking about the Pens then I wouldn't say anything because that team has really been bitten hard the past few years.

thats what happens when most of your stock is invested in a few names..
The Sestito hit? Absolutely charging. He left his feet, it was the right call. No need to attack MJL, you started it. He responds and you get your panties in a bunch.

Okay, I will make sure I mention the same thing when I start to see the next great debate when he's off and running. It wasn't an attack, I was pointing out his continued reference of needing to be correct.
As with the penalty to each their own. I always enjoy a forum to have people wanting to change other's opinions instead of going along with the conversation.
No need to reference undergarments, they are better left off anyway.

i think the difference between what we see is their depth are more veteran players where the Flyers are rookies learning on the job.
yes, coach of the year is Blysma with what he's doing with less and i'm far from a Pens fan.

Wonder if it's something as simple as the health-care he would receive as a LTIR is better/more comprehensive than that if here were a retired player?

Good win by the Flyers although we all know their are areas to improve.
Looking forward to seeing the rookies continue to develop.
Has anyone read Fraser's column today on TSN.Ca, he was mentioning how he was hanging out with a bunch of old timers and all of them had a few Cups except for Flocky Hockey.

It was pretty much a text book case of a charge. It was the right call. But I still like the effort, fire, and physical game that Sestito plays. Just get a little more under control, and I think he can help the team now and in the future.
