Pipe dream indeed. Just have to pray that Bryz becomes the "elite" goaltender the Flyers apparently signed.
- bradleyc4

I actually wanted my "I don't want Bryz" styled posts to be wrong (meaning, that he would meet expectations). After we signed him, I was on board because he's a Flyer. I'm a psychological mess.

I think until Bryz strings together several solid games and steals a few, people will be all over him every time he lets in a bad one.
- Hextall271

People will be all over Bryz no matter what he does. He had a very good stretch of ten games or so leading into 24/7, and the first shaky game he had afterwards, people we're tweeting and saying, "Well, he's back in the woods!!"

I just bugs me that people seem to want him to fail.

Bob was great last night, but I can't help feeling that if Bryz over commited on a goal, as much as Bob did on the second goal last night, we'd all be killing him.
- Dkos

Probably, but you can't fault a goalie on a 2-on-0. No matter how much money he makes.

No doubt about it, Bryzgalov would have been ripped for the goals Bobrovsky gave up. But that's what happens when your playing well, or your not playing well. Right now, Bobrovsky is the better Goalie. We'll see what happens after the All Star break.
- MJL

Personally, I'd love to see a goalie controversy fueled by the both of them playing great. But that's just crazy talk.

People do. They fault him for every single goal he allows. My twitter feed gets thinner after each game, because I just unfollow idiots who blame every bad thing on the goalie.

It stems from the media coverage. Folks go to the Servalling Carchiding Dramaccios of the world for hockey coverage and this is what you get. Those three love the drama and, in the words of Live, are Selling the Drama.

Agreed. Who's killing Bob for that goal? It was a 2-0, he stopped the initial scoring "chance", then Versteeg makes a miraculous pass behind him to a wide-open Fleischmann.

absolutely - here's Demers' quote:

“I wasn’t looking at (Mach) at all, I was looking through him to Ott,” Demers said after the game. “(Mach) sort of jumped in the way. He knew, and he was fine with it. I didn’t have any intention of doing that, it was inadvertant. Things happen in the heat of the moment. He was alright with it. I talked to him and apologized, and we went from there.”

I'm sure it was an accident. But I don't a Stars face anywhere in that clip.

I've been saying the same thing since Day 1. Still plenty of time for us to be wrong though. Goalies have good years and bad years. One bad year doesn't make or break a career.

His problems seem so fundamental that it should be fixable. Little changes...IDK, I really think that the hard luck goals and breakdown goals really affected him, and then his confidence waned and his game needs fixing.

I still think with work, hard work, he will be fine. Even something as simple as better fundamentals will help his game a lot.

............who then has the presence of mind to make a nice spin-o-rama move for the goal.

The whole thing was a clusterfudge for the Panthers to have that much time and space to make those plays.

EDIT: Leight.

That's certainly part of it, but I don't buy that it's all of it.
