“I didn’t know I was picked. I think Hartsy [Scott Hartnell] tapped me on the leg and said, ‘It’s you’,” laughed Price, who will also join Bruins rivals Tim Thomas and Tyler Seguin along with Leafs forward Phil Kessel in the game. “I didn’t know and then when I got out there I didn’t even see big Zdeno Chara out there – all 6-foot-10 of him.”
After shaking hands with Lupul and proudly scooping up his new, blue No.31 jersey from the Leafs winger, Price accidentally left his temporary captain hanging – a snub he’s planning to make up for this weekend.
“I feel shame,” he joked, after walking by without noticing Chara’s outstretched hand. “I gave him a point after, actually, when I walked by. He kind of looked at me funny. I felt bad. He’s a big guy so I was like, ‘Oh, how’d I miss him?’ I was looking down – you know goalies don’t stickhandle with their heads up.”
Far from holding a grudge against his seventh-round selection, after the Draft, Chara was actually shouldering the blame for the on-stage miscue.
“That was my bad – I missed him,” admitted the king-sized Slovak. “I was kind of following the picks and I was trying to look at the computer to see how much time I had and how many picks I had left and he snuck by. No big deal.”
With the bitter rivalry on ice for the time being, the 24-year-old Habs All-Star is happy to be suiting up alongside his Beantown rivals for one weekend.
“They’re good guys. We play against them all season and you learn to hate them, but you get on their team and they’re actually pretty good guys,” he explained. “That’s kind of the fun thing about this whole event; you get to meet guys that normally you learn to hate but at the end of the day they’re just trying to do their job, too.”

Hate to admit it, but as time goes on I hate Carey Price less.
I hate Subban more though, so I suppose it all balances. |

It's too bad Carey probably won't re-sign in Montreal. |

Gold! You see, that's what makes the ASG fun...it's very light...like Coors.

LMAO!!!
You know it's funny how many Habs fans I've heard say that they hate Chara less after hearing him speak.
He's a nice guy. Thomas too.
I think that is best part about the ASG, is that you get to see the players in a relaxed atmosphere. When they're on the ice they all want to win...off the ice, however, many are really good people. |

You think?
I think the chances of Carey NOT re-signing in Montreal are between 0 and 0.0000000000000000001 %.
But that's just me. |

Yes. I think there will be a deal announced before the end of the year too. If I was a betting man, I'd say during the first week or so of March, once the trade deadline has passed. |

Leave it to the media to trump up a non-story. - Cape Breton Bruins
It would have been front page in Quebec for a week if it was Chara doing it to Price!!!! But since it s the other way he was nervous hahahah He did not act professional about it that simple. You represent your team and u act like that. Well wait a second dont they all play nervous up there |

I really like Price. He seems like a humble dude. I am not one of those leaf fan, hab haters. I am a Bruin hater therefore I don't mind the habs a bit |
|
|
|
It looked on purpose when I originally saw it but it also looked like he was on crack cocaine so I don't think it was |

Do you think Price will re-sign in Montreal? - whipper334
Yes I believe he will - Habs used to have a history of not signing people during the season - that went out the window when they signed Gorges - sign him to an affordable RFA contract for a 3 or so years - then the UFA money deal -
The Habs showed that they were committed to him by trading Halak and trading their #1 AHL goalie and then subsequently signing 2 guys to be his backup who could never take his spot as the #1 guy on the team |
