Crosby reportedly has an injury to the C1 & C2 vertebrae in his neck. Damn that's some serious stuff.

As a hockey fan, I want him to play, because, Penguin or not, he's an incredible player. But I hope he takes a prudent approach, because at age 24 he's got a lot of years left to live. Don;t want to do that hampered and unable to enjoy it.

Also, on the other hand, these are the same doctors that were working on Pronger. Got to worry with that level of examination that they miss vertabrae damage.

I'd wonder if the Flyers should send Pronger to this doctor. At this point it can not hurt to turn over every rock even if it just allows him to live a semi normal life off the ice.

I'd definitely look at it. I am amazed that the level of examination that this kid has undergone that nobody found the damage to the vertebrae before now.

Also, how high of a risk does he face if he does return? I feel awful for him. Go through all that and find out that the doctors missed damaged vertebrae?
