May not be applicable in Carter's situation, but what is winning? Making 50K a year, living in smaller house, and sending your kid to public school while being at a job that makes you happy; or making twice that, living in a larger house, and giving your kids the best opportunities to succeed at a job where you aren't as happy?

Possible. I have no clue how Carle is viewed by other GM's around the league. Steady, yes, but he's not big and physical, which tends to bring the bigger money.

Suter isn't big and physical either. But he is going to get big money. Suter is better but they are both good players, who are going to get substantial raises on the open market.

Wow, Briere is ready over JvR? I clearly can't confirm or deny but Briere looked like he had a tougher time then JvR before being revealed that he had a concussion. Then different hits in one game and then a punch to the head?

when i saw him smiling in the dad/team photo the next day i thought there was a good chance he's not going to be out long. good sign anyway, although concussions often like to take left turns at albuquerque.
