not quite, i mean chara did hoist the cup last spring and shea weber is a huge name, plus lidstrom is 40 - flyerscup2011
Lidstrom is 41, and he's still the best dman in the NHL. |

It still really pisses me off that Chris Pronger wasn't nominated for the Norris his first season as a Flyer. Keith and Doughty were well deserving of their nominations and Keith did deserve to win but Pronger deserved that 3rd nomination over Mike Green. The one year the NHL decides to go young and forget about Lidstrom. - Schenn2shine
Green was nominated strictly based on his point total. He's brutal in his own end. |

he could start game 1. - hammarby31
I must admit, barring injury I would be pretty surprised if Bob started game 1. |

No question. Top 4 guys in the NHL are Lidstrom, Chara, Keith and Weber imo |

that's the great thing about the nhl IMO.... parity. so many great players and teams. the stanley cup isn't the hardest trophy in to win in pro sports for nothing |

I don't think anyone here would say no, including me. But that is so not the point. This is like comparing apples to watermelons.
Would you take a $5 a hour raise to move to Columbus doing the same job you are doing now?
Or more accurately, would you take a $5 an hour raise at your current job with the understanding you were going to move up, but then be told the only way you are getting that raise is to move to Columbus, would you be happy about it? - MBFlyerfan

I know why he was nominated and to me there is no excuse. If they really wanted Mike Green to be noticed, come out with an offensive defenseman award. I believe the shine has rubbed off Green and in my mind it was only a matter of time. He was never Norris worthy. |

Well Green has been crippled by injuries the last two years, so he's fallen off the map. |

In all seriousness would you be surprised if Bryzgalov struggled in game 1 of the playoff series, and Laviolette came back and played Bob in game 2? Heck with the way this season has gone I almost expect it. |

Green set the bar too high for himself. Even if he was able to stay healthy, he'd never see another 30 goal season. Hitting 20 is rare for a really good Dman. |

We need more players in our league. I told me cousin I'd save the Leafs for him but he's taking forever to get NHL12. |

paul coffey is no different than adam oates , jagr, pronger, roenick, etc, etc, etc. a great player the flyers acquired well after his prime - flyerscup2011
I fully agree with your well observed comment commenting off what I posted which was a good comment that deserved a good obversivatory comment like your own |

Yep. 2009-10 he had 76 points, in today's NHL that's insane #'s for a dman. |

Oh no I was referring to NHL 12. If Bryz played like he did in NHL 12 people would be lining up to blow him |
