Get a life you fukn troll. The Canucks will never win the Stanley Cup , 1 game away might as well be 16 games away. You're a fair weather fruit cake |

GG tonight. Pretty damn entertaining. Ignore the trolls.
Should have been a Penalty Shot in OT but there also should have atleast been 1 Canucks PP in reg.

It was a very entertaining game. The Canucks were the better team for the most part. The Hawks played their best in the 2nd period. It would be a hockey injustice for these 2 teams to not meet in the play offs again this season. |

I thought the Canucks were better for the first 10 minutes. The Hawks owned the next 30 or so pretty badly. Had Schneids not made some solid saves and a little luck with B-Mo not getting the shot off, it could have been 6-1 in the 2nd period.
The 3rd was more balanced and that OT was back and forth.
I dont know if my heart can take another series between these 2 teams.
1 other thing I wanted to point out. This is a real rivalry. Not that (frank)in BS with the Bruins/Canucks which is essentially the Canucks trying to draw calls while the B's try to injure someone.
This is speed, great passing, solid hits and big plays from big players. Tonights game only had 2 penalties and they showed you dont need to have a "goon it up" type of game to have an entertaining game.

No the truth that your Hawks will go nowhere in the playoffs. Look at the team man...I'm sure you watch the games...they are too small, not physical enough to succeed in the playoffs and your goaltending is a question mark. Your defenseman will be burned out before the playoffs even start. Your teams biggest mistake was letting Buff and Ladd go. Your team needs to add some big pieces at the deadline and even that may not be enough. - CanUSA17
Amazing how a team who is so poorly built in the playoffs outplayed your team and nearly won. We are aware of the flaws of this team and know they need to make some deals at the deadline if you think the canucks are flawless you are crazy. Plus crawford looked fine to me tonight and he has the ability to turn it up. Being loaded with goalies who play well in the regular season means nothing.m you just need to get hot at the right time nd this team certainly can. The hawks grass couldnt keep that team together. They loaded up for a run and succeeded. That team may have been one of the deepest cup, teams in the last ten years. For the money buff was and is being paid, he was a liability on d and took too many nights off. |

4 on 4 you play man on man. Bolland tried but he couldn't make there. Sedin skated right past Kane and Kane just watched. - tokked
How many times have we heard on the broadcasts, "4 on 4 is man coverage. D covers the forwards and forwards cover the D"?
The Sedins should have been Keith and Seabrook's responsibility and Kane and Bolland should have been primarily concerned with the Vancouver D. |

If you put the Canucks in the Central, they would be the 6 seed. If you put the Hawks in the Dolly Madison division to face all the cupcakes, they would be the 2 seed. Vancoucer is one frigggin standings point ahead.
Aside from the recurring Unexplained Mysteries episode of Scott playing, I liked what I saw last night. Goalie win for the Canucks. The Hawks have gotten much more physical with the addition of Shaw. Stalberg needs to go agressively at the forecheck more often like he did last night. They could still use another banger forward, but it is not of primary concern.
Q should be given a nice, relaxing vacation at Elgin State Mental Hospital if Scott sees the ice as a defenseman again. Did O'D and Lepisto die over the all star break? That's the only viable reason I can think of for Scott being in the lineup last night. Q knows full well he needs to bring the minutes down for Keith and Seabs so he makes the one lineup choice guaranteed to inflate their TOI? WTF? To quote Steve Rosenbloom, Q your plane is boarding.
Stan needs to find someone who can play second pairing minutes. Assuming he can, the defense should be greatly bolstered. I say should, because you never know if Q will replace Seabrook with Scott looking to get a longer active stick in the lineup. |

Really
Think back to a not so long ago, when Det played super soft teams like CBJs Hawks Nash StL and Canucks had to battle in the toughest division with the Flames Oilers and Avs .All I can say is deal with it like we had to.
I think now that the mystique of these two teams is over ,we get to see some entertaining hockey.Even though Lu didn't play last night there is no more Lungos kitchen .He has been our best player over the last month. Bolland did not get in the heads of the Sisters. All that stuff is the past .Now it is two good teams playing a good game.On any given night either team can win.
With TDL coming quick both teams are jockeying for the advantage .Truth be told there is slim pickings out there to be had. If a team wants to make a bold move then they will have to give up some key pieces . |

The Hawks' record against the NW is pretty much the same as the Canucks' record against the Central. Or to put it another way the Hawks' record against the Central is almost as good as the Canucks' record against the NW. So one person's cupcakes are another person's muffins.

Two very good teams that could use some tweaking. Who will be hotter come April? Looking forward to finding out.

Agreed on all points. The only problem seems to be that the officiating has a hard time measuring up to the quality of play by the teams. That penalty given to Ballard was ridiculous, I was glad the Hawks didn't score on the PP.
As a Hawks fan, I think the Canucks have another gear and the Hawks don't because they really only have 4 defenceman. In a 7 game series, Keith and Seabrook are used up and burned out after about 4 games. Bowman must find somebody in the trade market to help back there. |

Hodgsen has turned out to be a money man. He comes through when the team needs him. Many people predicting soon this will be his team not Henriks. He seems to be a lot like Linden was.
Shaw looks very good also .Very impressed with his game. |
