He would crumble under the pressure of playing in Philly and take over Shelley's role on this board. - rockychocbill
I don't think so, he wouldn't be the go to D man here. He could play the PP but Mezzy, Coburn, and Carle, Timmonen would all have similiar expectations on them IMHO.

Johnson isn't very good in his own end, he has been a minus player ever year of his career. He's -8 this year on a team that doesn't give up many goals, and has outstanding goaltending.
He's pretty good offensively, and pretty good on the PP. Think of Mike Green with less offense

Carle would be gone if Johnson is coming I think. Timo gets a pass due to his age and likability quotient. Coburn is..... well, Coburn. No high expectations anymore. That leaves Mezzy and the rookies and I doubt any of them would be looked at the way Johnson would be coming in. He'd have to bring way more than just some PP numbers if he's going to be replacing Carle (and to some extent Pronger).

Without looking at any numbers, JJ coming in would mean the end of the road for Carle in Philadelphia. I think, considering the substantial cap hit and the boatload of years on his contract, that expectations would be fairly high, especially if we gave up something substantial for him.

Trouble with Johnson is that he'd basicazlly replace Carle, and I don't think he's as good all around as our young, soon to be massively rich Alaskan friend

JJ also blocks a lot of shots which would help beachballgov

Nope. He's not as good all around as Carle is. - PLindbergh31
But, he is signed for a long time at less than Carle would be...My brain is dead, so out side of rehashing old names, just don;t do anything dumb, Holmger.

I had CI last season and live in the same time zone as you. I must have seen over 50 Kings games. He's not atrocious, but he's prone to brain farts, misses the net more than he hits it and is not mean or overly physical.
How was the ASG? Did Guacapoopsie enjoy? - rockychocbill
We had a BLAST. All the mascots were there, and she got to dance at every goal. I ran into John Stevens, which was cool-he was inducted into the AHL HOF-and was sitting the next section over.
Guacapoopie ate about 14 lbs of cotton candy and I bought her a puck, which she's been carrying since Monday night
