Yes they only missed the playoffs last year, but they just aren't the same team since letting Gionta go.

Yeah, but now the future looks a lot brighter since then. At the time, we had nothing in the prospect pool and no one was on the verge of that cusp.

Right now, all our prospects are ready. Fayne, Larsson, Henrique, Josefson, Tedenby, Taormina, etc. These are the years when we have all of our talent starting to break into the league.

It's over, Pete. I believed until Tuesday. Now, I'm on the fail for Nail bandwagon. It's much easier to accept a loss when you have no expectations.

I've come to realize that this isn't a very good hockey team.

I'll look it up but that was so long ago but hey, maybe that's the reason he hasn't landed a job yet.

I was upset when they were up 3-1 thinking about draft position and was even madder when they actually lost. I can't wait for this season to end.

I've been thinking that for the vast majority of the Martin-gomez-gionta-cammaleri era. And continue to share that perspective.

Weber, Diaz and Kaberle all on the same team playing defense is re-(frank)ing-tarded.

- blarneylad

Agreed. The current management group is not going to bring the Habs anywhere anytime soon. Time to do some major house cleaning.

I'll be all smiles once Feb. 27th has come and gone and we still have our pick.

Sure they'll have their pick. No doubt in my mind.
The question is, how many other picks will they get?

Well... Gomez is either going to be demoted or bought out. Since the first option is unlikely, he'll get bought out. He's a distraction.

Gionta is likely not going nowhere. Markov will likely finish his career on LTIR.

Wow.

I'm tweeting this to Marinarinario
captain Pat Verbeek called McGuire's firing the best thing that could have happened to the Whalers. He said other teams mocked their coach. He said his own teammates had no respect for McGuire. He said a number of players wouldn't have wanted to play in Hartford anymore.
