It was the easy answer. - hscesq
It's still interesting when you consider how bad the PP has been. It's a big improvement 5 on 5. |

Seriously? That's your list?
Habs are really bad this year, but when you break down #s it's not as desperate as some people think. I realize the easy answer to what i'm about to say is "That doesn't mean much", but Mtl is going to score more goals this season than last season. That's total goals. That's with an awful PP. - habby
Add Price to the list, IF he's asking for a reasonable cap hit.
There is nothing on defense that could or even should be considered a #1 or #2 defenseman.
There is nothing at center that can consistently play the role of a true #1 center.
I don't care about the number of goals they score. This team is simply too weak at key positions.

At this point, I'd trade just about anyone.
Keep Pacioretty, Cole, Bourque, Gorges and Kostitsyn.
I don't give a poop about the others. - Pecafan Fan
I would put Price on that list, if he wants to stay... |

Surprising - Fredobface
I know.
But he'll probably won't cost much and that dumb (frank) consistently finds a way to score 20 goals per season no matter what poop center and limited PP time he's given. |

I'm not gonna defend PK's play this season, but to blindly say he should be traded and that he still doesn't have great potential, especially when you're not going to get fair value for him, is crazy.
I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but "blow it up" is extreme and unnecessary. Plus we both know it won't happen. |

Hey....he's on pace for 40 points in a contract year. How do you let that walk??? - stormey
No, I like him because he's the only spectacular guy we have. Granted he only plays one game out of four, but afterall it's a show and once in a while he gives us one.
It surprises me that Asp likes him. |

And he rarely costs goal when he's on the ice. His play in his own zone is not as bad as it used to be. |

People need to get over where he was drafted and just look at the player, he's a 2nd or 3rd line player who going to score 20+. If he costs under 4 mil per you keep him. |

They're not going to get a real top line center unless they give something in return.
If the cost is Subban and say, Plekanec + pick, then so be it. I don't give a poop.
I know they won't blow it up, but that's what needs to be done. |

I've always been beig on the guy. He could score 40, but he won't and until someone else can score 20-25, they need them more than he needs them. |

Depending who it is, I agree with this. Although it would be nice if they found a way to do it without subban. i think Plek, picks and prospects can get it done, especially when you consider why a team would be trading an actual #1 centre. |

it goes hand in hand. i think the 5 on 5 improvement is directly related to the PP struggles. we were never as bad a 5-on-5 team these past few years. we just didn't rely on even strength play as much because the PP generated so much of our offense. now that well is dry, and the goals, no matter how bad we are, still have to come from somewhere. |
