I can't see them firing him yet, not until the season is over and they have a replacement ready. If the guy they want is already employed by another team...they have to wait. He just needs approval to make any trades at this point.

At this point all winning will do is give Gauthier the idea that he can some how salvage this season. It would be bad enough for an average GM to fall into that mindset, but for someone who can't even count how many quarters he's getting back for his loonie, it's just a nightmare.

Agreed, GM's are seldom fired outside of the summer, and Molson is the last owner/president who will do it. Not to mention a mid-season loss of a GM was how we ended up with Gauthier in the first place
