While it seems enticing (depending on the trade). I cringe at someone who's been labeled as a party boy coming to Montreal...
- ehabs9

I don't buy that at all... guy makes what? 7 million bucks a year? trust me if he wantsa to have a good time he can have it in COlumbus too...

pretty much anywhere except Ottawa.

only losers live and/or work there.

if he is still trying to save his job(and why wouldn't he) he may try and make a splash and end up doing something stupid Like Carter for Plek, PK, Tinordi and 2 firsts.
- HuileHab

He would need approval before any trade. I'm really not that worried.

Do you really want him to make trades at the deadline?
- Rtt19

I don't but I'm not in a position to fire him.

If I was he would have been fired already (he would never have been hired in the first place though).

While exaggerated, I get your point. He can't do anything too far out of left field otherwise he seals what already looks to be a done deal in his ass getting canned this summer. On the other hand if he's got nothing to lose he may do something without fully thinking it through (not that it's new to his repertoire). I'll be able to fully look forward to this summer once the deadline has come and gone, and is he manages to sell off a few expiring assets properly all the better. However I'll count my blessings if he does nothing.

It's not that he wouldn't be able to have a good time if he wanted to but that guys who like to have good times tend to not do to well in Montreal and cause issues in the "room".

Oh I don't doubt that he's likely to party anywhere he ends up, but a city that prides itself on it's nightlife makes it that much easier for him to go too far. Maybe it isn't related, but there have been quite a few players that have been criticized for going overboard on 'partying' here and consequently get shipped out and go on to be successful elsewhere. At this point I don't see it's worth the risk with 10 years left on his contract.

McQuire would have never traded for Kaberle. you ever call him Kabs ? i do sometimes and it feels like it makes sense , but then i come on here and NO ONE is calling him Kabs. so ... you know.

Does this mean someone approved the Kaberle trade?

Or are you assuming he will be handcuffed during this deadline?

Montreal also prides itself in its glorious hockey team. Desn't mean it's true. You go to any NHL city and chances are a party guy will be found where the party is.

I heard his going out only started to be a problem after he figured he was the "man" becuase he had 1 84 point season and he has not been the same player since.
