Plek is not a first line center, we all agree. Same with DD and Eller, they will never be.
Habs have to decide which one they package to get one.
But real 1st line center don't come around that often. If Carter is available, sad to say, but they have to try.
Not saying Carter is the savior, but he's certainly better than what they have right now...

Problem with Carter is that he still has around 9 years on his actual contract.

I'm not certain he's the guy I'd like to have for 9 (frank)ing years.

Agreed. Long contract. But the cap is not bad.
Which other center would rather have? Malkin? Datsyuk? These guys are simply not available and will never be...
