Well the only people who think the Habs are still glorious are the delusional sheep, anyone outside of Montreal doesn't see it that way. However Montreal is usually rated in the upper echelons of nightlife worldwide.

Like I said I'm not trying to argue it's a sure thing, but it's been reported to be a problem here in the past and it's seemed to coincide with poor play on the ice for the players in question. I doubt they stopped partying where they ended up playing after being moved so the obvious answer is that it's Montreal. Not saying it's right but it's a possibility.

On a side note, even though I'm sure he still ends up there, I'm willing to bet a fair bit of money 'the party' in Columbus is not nearly as enticing as 'the party' in Montreal.

I agree with what you're saying, basically it just comes down to the fact that Montreal has had bad experiences with players who enjoy partying. It just doesn't seem to mix, whether it's the city the way the organization handles it, who knows, but personally speaking I'd rather stay away from someone who's got 10 years left on a team already loaded with terrible contracts when he has a reputation for partying.
