I agree with what you're saying, basically it just comes down to the fact that Montreal has had bad experiences with players who enjoy partying. It just doesn't seem to mix, whether it's the city the way the organization handles it, who knows, but personally speaking I'd rather stay away from someone who's got 10 years left on a team already loaded with terrible contracts when he has a reputation for partying.

maybe it's not MOntreal as much as it's the MOntreal Canadiens who do a piss poor job of making sure they select and develop well-rounded players.

It isn't the "party" that is the problem, it is when the player can't handle the attention and the ego stroking that he gets while at the party, it goes straight to his head and he starts to believe he is bigger then the team.

Some players can't handle it and need a wake up call. Columbus thought that would work with Carter, but it hasn't yet, partly due to his injury maybe partly due to pouting.
