I love Ryan Getzlaf and Zach Parise,if you trade Subban Schenn for any one of them straight up, you lose that deal

All I'm saying is, Jagr is a "nice to have" piece of the puzzle for a contender.

In Montreal, he'd look as disinterested as the rest of the team. And I doubt they'd be in a better position because of him.

Plek, the czech connexion.

I remember poor Sacha getting excited during the WHC when Plekky and Jags were playing together.

maybe wake up pleks and AK though, might even have a decent PP. Would he make them contenders, no. Would he make them a better team, yes.

They'd be 11th instead of 14th.

I understand your point i do. My point was in the off season most of the dudes on this thread were against the habs getting Jagr, he was washed up and wouldnt make the habs top 6. Pretty sure we can put that little theory to bed now. And you can say its all Giroux if you want, but it isnt. He is simply playing well.

I really like Jagr, but he's not what this team needs moving forward imho.

Yeah, I'd be curious to see how many of Jagr's goals were a feed from Giroux. 38pts for Jagr, 60 for Giroux.

Of course Jagr's got talent. Always will. But without a playmaker like Giroux, his numbers would be much, much lower imho.

Good article on Faksa.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=615482

In fact, Spott sees a lot of similarities between Faksa and Gabriel Landeskog, who spent two seasons in Kitchener before being drafted by the Colorado Avalanche with the second pick of the 2011 draft.

"I think the transition that Radek has made has been a little bit easier for him," Spott said. "I think, like Gabriel, he plays a North American style of game. He's physical and willing to go into the dirty areas to score. Defensively, he has a real good battle level, so I think that's why he's been able to make this transition rather smoothly."

Faksa, winner of the showdown breakaway challenge at the recent CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game skills competition, compares his style of play to Martin Havlat.

"I like to protect the puck and play hard," he said.

He's played only 44 games so far. My main concern was the fact he didn't play an 82 games schedule in a looooong time (+ playoffs).

Let's see how he does down the stretch. He's got groin issues lately as well.
