carter's problems have been mostly flukey foot breaks, it isn't like he has a bum knee or back

Rather have Galchenyuk.

Oh and apparently the habs think Grigorenko is a 'risky' player to take with a high pick.

- QuebecPride

So risky! I mean he's over 6'0 and is a center! WTF?

If he were to come to MTL, with the depth and talent they have minus what it would take to get him, he would think of those injury days as the glory days.
- Pie

If I had my way, I would try to aquire a 30 minute d-man and work from there use the Markov and Gomez money for that, and a decent center, work with what you got prospects wise it`s not that bad. We need d worse than a center imo.

Edit: while we are on Sesame Street, I would like to see a healthy team some year

Top 3 next year could be Suter, Subban and Markov

Not much on the market that is really for sale right now (that we know). He doesn't have a NTC yet, it only kicks in the summer. Plek is signed for 5 more years and for Columbus, that's important, they don't attract UFA's easily, look at how much they had to pay Wiz to get him. A guy like Grabovski would leave in the summer anyway, too risky for them, he loses some of his value for Columbus.

I would rather a better all around center but Carter's cap hit is decent if he can stay healthy.

- Symba007

Ran out of Philly for partying? What he do OD on cheesesteaks? Cant wait to see the damage he can do in Montreal.

Kid is growing...he will settle down. There is a risk, the question is are the Habs will to take that chance.

Not a favourite of mine. He was average at the WJC but was apparently injured. Big body, skills, but not worth a top10 pick IMO.
- QuebecPride

Now we know the kid is going to be a superstar.

Why would the habs ever draft a big center with skills, so many small NCAA prospects that take 10 years to develop to gamble on.

I agree that until they bury Gomez they just need to hang on to their picks. Gomez situation needs to be dealt first and then move forward.

I dont think this organization has the balls to send Gomez to the minors, if they did, he would already be there.

I think they do and I think they will. Its gone beyond retarded but it will happen in the offseason. Fact is he's well liked in the locker room and no one on that team or in the league wants to see a franchise embarrass a guy or being punished because he agreed to a retarded contract. Come the spring and no POs his head will roll with Gaineys and that will be acceptable.

Seriously though, he's too risky yet they covet a guy (Also insanely skilled and likely to be good) coming off missing almost a whole year with a knee injury...

They need to take another direction....a new GM philosophy is badly needed and that will/should include sending Gomez to Hamilton. NYR and TO did it...Gomez has proven he has nothing left to give, let's move on. The Habs have been WAY more than patient, every players in the NHL knows he is done and they want to help him but it's not working. An NHL team is a business....not a kindergarten.

They almost have to shiner, no goals in a year, no playoffs, those cheers will likely turn into boo`s before long. A new GM will have no problem getting rid of him.

Exactly he's had this year to pull his poop together but at that salary its unacceptable. Basically they gave him plenty of rope.
